LinkedIn is the professional networking platform founded in 2002 and acquired by Microsoft in 2016. This category is unusually top-heavy for a company roster on this wiki: it holds the co-founder and both of the chief executives who have run the platform since, which is effectively the entire leadership history of the company in one place. Around that core sits a much larger and looser set of technology founders whose entries reference the company rather than record employment at it.
The founder and his two successors
Reid Hoffman co-founded LinkedIn and served as its executive chairman, and has kept a second career as a partner at Greylock Partners, a co-founder of Inflection AI and Manas AI, and a board member at Microsoft and the Arc Institute. Jeff Weiner joined in December 2008 as interim president, was named chief executive in 2009, and held the role until 2020 through the platform's expansion and its sale to Microsoft. Ryan Roslansky joined in 2009, worked on content and editorial strategy, and succeeded Weiner as chief executive in June 2020; in June 2025 Microsoft widened his remit to include its Office productivity division.
Engineers who left
The employee membership below the executive layer is thin and recent. Adhityaa Chandrasekar worked at LinkedIn and at Google before co-founding Subtrace, a network tracer for backend infrastructure, out of San Francisco.
A larger group appears in this category through references in their own entries rather than through a documented period on staff, among them Jerry Chen of Greylock Partners and a set of accelerator-backed founders including Riya Jagetia, Zack Ashen, Prithvi Ramakrishnan and Majid Yazdani. Membership here should be read as a connection to the company, not as a claim of employment by it.
