Prithvi Ramakrishnan is a software engineer and entrepreneur based in San Francisco, California. He is the co-founder of Promptless, an artificial intelligence platform that automatically updates customer-facing documentation. Promptless participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2025 batch.[1]
Early life and education
Ramakrishnan represented Trinidad and Tobago at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) from 2008 to 2011, earning an Honourable Mention in 2011. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Stanford University.
Career
Ramakrishnan began his career with positions at several technology companies. He worked as an Encryption Engineer at Symantec in 2013, as a Researcher at Google in 2014, and as a Software Engineer at LinkedIn in 2014. From 2015 to 2020, he served as Lead Engineer at Piazza Technologies Inc., an online learning platform.
Ramakrishnan subsequently joined Bond, a fintech infrastructure startup focused on embedded finance solutions. He held several roles at the company, including Head of Solutions and Engineering Manager (2020–2022) before becoming Vice President of Product and Engineering. At Bond, he was involved in building the company's enterprise platform for banking and credit services. Bond was later acquired by FIS (NYSE: FIS).
In early 2025, Ramakrishnan co-founded Promptless. The company develops AI agents designed to eliminate documentation drift by automatically updating customer-facing materials such as developer docs, support articles, release notes, tutorials, API documentation, and knowledge base articles. Promptless integrates with existing documentation platforms and can be triggered by feature releases, support tickets, internal Slack conversations, and other workflows, pulling context from various internal knowledge sources.[2] The company's clients include both startups and Fortune 500 enterprises.
Promptless was accepted into Y Combinator's Winter 2025 batch. The company operates in the artificial intelligence, developer tools, generative AI, SaaS, and B2B sectors and is headquartered in San Francisco.
