Augustin Baudoin is a French entrepreneur and the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Rastro, a retail technology company that provides tools for distributors and retailers to rapidly build and manage product catalogs. Rastro was part of the Y Combinator Summer 2024 (S24) batch and is based in San Francisco.[1]

Career

Baudoin co-founded Rastro alongside Baptiste Cumin, who serves as CEO, and Papa Wele, who serves as CTO. Prior to founding Rastro, Cumin had been an AI lead working on Shopify's catalog of over two billion SKUs, while Wele had worked as a Shopify checkout engineer with approximately twenty years of engineering experience.[2]

Baudoin studied at HEC Paris and École Polytechnique, two of France's most selective higher education institutions.

Rastro describes itself as "the fastest way for retailers to launch product catalogs." The company's platform helps distributors and retailers manage what it calls "catalog chaos" by transforming disparate vendor data into structured, launch-ready product listings. The platform's capabilities include ingesting vendor data, scraping online specifications and pricing, performing fuzzy matching against existing databases, generating product images, and outputting products in a retailer's specific schema. The company operates in the retail technology and artificial intelligence sectors.[1]

Rastro's product serves several use cases, including enriching existing catalogs by filling in missing product attributes from manufacturer websites and supplier documentation, onboarding new products, and merchandising. The company reports having helped create millions of products and scraped data from dozens of supplier sites.[2]

Among Rastro's customers are Sunco.com, where VP of Operations Abraham Kwan credited the platform with making previously unachievable projects completable within the same quarter, and NY Tractor Parts, whose CEO James Young highlighted the value of real-time pricing data scraped across the United Kingdom and European Union markets. French retailer Un Amour de Tapis has also used the platform.[2]
