Ishan Sheth is an American software engineer and entrepreneur who is the co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) of Ergo, a San Francisco-based startup that develops artificial intelligence agents for revenue teams. Ergo was part of Y Combinator's Winter 2025 batch.[1]
Early life and education
Sheth studied computer science at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he specialized in artificial intelligence, modeling, and simulation. He also studied economics during his time at Georgia Tech.[2]
Career
Before founding Ergo, Sheth gained experience as a full-stack engineer through an internship at Ditch, an Atlanta-based startup. He also worked on AI tools for automating medical documentation and led development teams creating forecasting models for consumer products.[3]
In 2024, Sheth co-founded Ergo alongside Yash Dulla, who serves as CEO. The company was accepted into Y Combinator's Winter 2025 batch. Ergo develops AI agents designed to automate operational tasks for sales teams. The platform monitors customer communications across tools such as Zoom, email, and Slack, and uses that data to keep customer relationship management (CRM) systems like HubSpot and Salesforce up to date automatically. Beyond CRM updates, Ergo's AI agents execute revenue-generating activities, including automating mid-funnel follow-ups based on external market signals and past customer interactions. The company describes its goal as helping sales teams maintain active pipelines, prevent deals from stalling, and reduce sales cycles.[4]
Ergo's clients include companies such as Greptile, Rho, and Retell AI. The company is categorized within the artificial intelligence, software as a service (SaaS), business-to-business (B2B), and sales industries.[5]
Sheth has also offered mentorship in areas including engineering leadership, software engineering, and data engineering.[6]
