Sachin Sridhar is an Indian software engineer and entrepreneur who is the co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) of Subtrace, a zero-code network tracing tool for production infrastructure. The company was part of Y Combinator's Winter 2025 (W25) batch and is based in San Francisco, California.[1]
Career
Prior to founding Subtrace, Sridhar worked as a software engineer at Microsoft, where he contributed to Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.[2] He studied computer science at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
Sridhar co-founded Subtrace in 2024 alongside Adhityaa Chandrasekar, who serves as CEO. Subtrace is a zero-code network monitoring tool that allows backend engineering teams to observe every HTTP request entering and leaving their production infrastructure in real time, without requiring code changes or root privileges. The company describes the product as functioning like a browser's "inspect element" feature, but applied to an entire server infrastructure. Under the hood, Subtrace uses BPF (Berkeley Packet Filter) technology to intercept and display network traffic. The tool is largely written in Go and can be set up with a single command across all major programming languages.[3]
The Subtrace interface consolidates request details such as payload content, latency, HTTP status codes, headers, and logs, enabling developers to debug production issues quickly. The project has gained traction in the open-source community, accumulating approximately 2,700 stars on GitHub.
In March 2025, Subtrace raised a $500,000 seed round with participation from Y Combinator and investor Kevin Lin.[4] At the time of the funding, the company consisted of two employees.
Subtrace targets business-to-business customers in the engineering, product, and design sectors, with developer signups reported from teams at multiple organizations worldwide.
