Early life and education
Dubey was born in Kolkata, India.[2] He studied at the University of Warwick and Imperial College London.[3]
Career
Dubey founded Plexe, an AI and machine learning company that allows users to generate custom predictive ML models from a text-based problem description. The platform connects to users' data sources, conducts experiments, evaluates model performance, and deploys finished models to API endpoints for production use. Plexe's product is designed to automate tasks traditionally performed by data scientists and machine learning engineers, including data quality assessment, pattern detection, model creation, and deployment.[4]
Plexe was accepted into Y Combinator's Spring 2025 batch, the accelerator's first-ever spring cohort. The company was categorized within the machine learning, data science, and AI industries. Business Insider named Plexe among the ten most exciting AI agent startups to emerge from that Y Combinator Demo Day.[5]
In August 2025, Plexe secured a $2.1 million seed funding round. The company announced plans to expand its operations into the United States market and to target the retail and banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) sectors, with a stated goal of pursuing a Series A round as a next step.[6]
The Plexe platform offers features including custom ML model creation, data dashboards, API endpoints, batch processing jobs, file upload, and database connectors. The company's product has been featured on Product Hunt.
As of 2025, Dubey is based in San Francisco, California.
