Tiger Wang is an American technology entrepreneur and software engineer who is the co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) of Nessie Labs, a Y Combinator-backed startup that develops a personal knowledge management application powered by artificial intelligence.[1] He co-founded the company alongside Anna Zhang.

Early career

Wang was affiliated with Yale University, where he served as an undergraduate teaching assistant from 2021 to 2023 and as a research assistant from 2023 to 2024. He also completed multiple internships at Amazon, including a software development engineer internship focused on transportation logistics in 2022 and another internship in consumer identity in 2023. After his time at Yale, Wang joined Amazon full-time as a Software Development Engineer in 2024, advancing to Software Development Engineer II in 2025 before departing to co-found Nessie Labs.[2]

Nessie Labs

Wang co-founded Nessie Labs in 2025 with Anna Zhang. The company is based in San Francisco and is backed by Y Combinator. Nessie Labs develops a macOS application called Nessie, which converts users' scattered AI chat conversations into a structured personal knowledge base. The product allows users to import large volumes of AI chat histories, organize them into browsable and searchable topics, and capture individual insights as structured notes with their original context preserved. A key feature of the application is its ability to synthesize connections across a user's accumulated knowledge, surfacing patterns and relationships between previously separate ideas.[3]

The application emphasizes user privacy, storing content locally on the user's device rather than on Nessie Labs' servers. According to the company, no one at Nessie can access users' private content.

In December 2025, Wang and co-founder Zhang attended a Y Combinator community event in San Francisco where author Ken Liu spoke about his AI-themed novel All That We See and Seem.[4]
