Sigalit "Siggy" Flicker (née Paldiel; born June 1, 1967) is an Israeli-American matchmaker, podcaster, television personality, and writer. Born in Israel and raised in New Jersey, she first gained national attention as the star of the VH1 reality-television series Why Am I Still Single?! in 2011, in which she helped singles find romantic partners through her professional matchmaking practice.[1] She became more widely known as a cast member on the seventh and eighth seasons of Bravo's The Real Housewives of New Jersey, appearing on the series from 2016 to 2018.[2] In May 2025, President Donald Trump appointed Flicker to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council, the governing board of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.[3] Flicker is the daughter of a Holocaust survivor and has spoken publicly about her Jewish heritage and the importance of Holocaust remembrance.[4]

Early Life

Sigalit Paldiel was born on June 1, 1967, in Israel.[5] She is the daughter of Mordecai Paldiel, a Holocaust survivor who went on to serve as the director of the Department for the Righteous Among the Nations at the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem.[4] Her family's history shaped her personal identity, and she has spoken publicly about the significance of her father's experiences during the Holocaust and how they influenced her upbringing.[4]

Flicker's family relocated from Israel to the United States, settling in the South Jersey area. She attended Cherry Hill West High School in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, a detail she has referenced in interviews about her ties to the South Jersey community.[6] Growing up as an Israeli immigrant in suburban New Jersey, Flicker navigated two cultural identities. She has discussed in interviews how she at times lost touch with her Jewish roots during her younger years before later reconnecting with her heritage as an adult.[4]

Education

After graduating from Cherry Hill West High School, Flicker enrolled at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.[5][6] Monmouth University, a private institution on the New Jersey Shore, served as the foundation for Flicker's subsequent career pursuits in relationship counseling and media.

Career

Matchmaking and Relationship Consulting

Flicker established herself as a professional matchmaker and relationship expert, building a practice based in New Jersey. She developed her own approach to matchmaking, offering one-on-one consultations and relationship advice to clients seeking romantic partners.[5] Her work in the matchmaking field led to media appearances that raised her public profile, including segments on various television programs where she offered dating and relationship guidance.

Flicker appeared on The Dr. Phil Show, hosted by Phil McGraw, as a relationship expert, contributing advice and commentary on matters related to dating and partnerships.[7] She was also featured as a Valentine's Day relationship expert in media coverage, providing tips and guidance on romantic relationships.[8]

Her matchmaking practice and media presence positioned her as a recognizable figure in the dating and relationship advice space, which served as the springboard for her entry into reality television.

Why Am I Still Single?! (2011)

In October 2011, Flicker became the star of the VH1 reality-television series Why Am I Still Single?!, which showcased her work as a professional matchmaker.[9] The show followed Flicker as she worked with single clients to help them identify obstacles in their romantic lives and find compatible partners. Flicker maintained a blog on her personal website documenting her experiences during the production of the series.[10]

In an interview with Blast Magazine during the series' run, Flicker discussed her philosophy on matchmaking and the reasons people remain single, providing insight into her approach to relationship counseling as portrayed on the show.[11] The VH1 series introduced Flicker to a national television audience and established her credentials as a television personality, setting the stage for her later involvement with the Real Housewives franchise.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey (2016–2018)

In 2016, Flicker joined the cast of Bravo's The Real Housewives of New Jersey as a full-time cast member for the show's seventh season. She was one of two new additions to the cast that year, and she stated in interviews that her goal was to bring a positive presence to the long-running series.[2] Speaking to NorthJersey.com ahead of the season premiere, Flicker expressed her desire to represent New Jersey women in a favorable light on the program.[2]

Flicker's casting was also covered by the Courier-Post, which highlighted her connections to the South Jersey area, including her time growing up in Cherry Hill.[6] On the Bravo website, content was published describing Flicker's background and her connections to other cast members of the New Jersey franchise.[12]

Flicker continued as a cast member for the show's eighth season, which aired in 2017–2018. During her two seasons on the series, Flicker was involved in several notable storylines and interpersonal conflicts with other cast members that generated discussion among the show's fanbase. Her emotional reactions and confrontations with fellow cast members became a recurring element of her time on the program.[13]

In December 2017, Flicker announced that she would not be returning for the ninth season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. In an interview with People magazine, she confirmed her departure from the show.[14] Her exit from the series marked the end of her two-season tenure on one of the most-watched programs in the Real Housewives franchise.

Podcast and Media Appearances

Following her departure from The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Flicker launched a podcast titled Just Sayin' with Siggy Flicker, available through her personal website.[15] The podcast allowed her to continue engaging with audiences on topics related to relationships, pop culture, and current events outside of the structured format of reality television.

Flicker has continued to make media appearances in the years since leaving The Real Housewives of New Jersey. In April 2025, actor Mark Indelicato, known for his role on the series Hacks, told Andy Cohen that he wanted Flicker to return to The Real Housewives of New Jersey, a comment that reportedly left Cohen "speechless" given Flicker's outspoken political views.[16]

Political Activity and Public Advocacy

In the years following her reality television career, Flicker became known for her outspoken political engagement, particularly her support for Donald Trump and the Republican Party. Her political positions generated attention in media coverage, with multiple outlets noting her status as a prominent Trump supporter within the reality television community.[13][17]

In December 2025, Flicker publicly praised Alina Habba, an attorney who had served as a legal spokesperson for Donald Trump, describing Habba as a "fighter" for America in remarks reported by Newsweek.[18]

Flicker has also spoken extensively about her Jewish identity and Holocaust remembrance, connecting her family history — particularly her father Mordecai Paldiel's experiences as a Holocaust survivor and his work at Yad Vashem — to her advocacy for preserving the memory of the Holocaust.[4] This combination of her personal heritage and public profile would later factor into her appointment to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council.

Appointment to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council (2025)

On May 7, 2025, President Donald Trump announced the appointment of Flicker to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council, the governing board of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.[3] The appointment was widely covered in national and international media. Flicker was among five new board members named by Trump after he had previously removed nominees appointed by former President Joe Biden, including Doug Emhoff, the husband of former Vice President Kamala Harris.[19]

The Washington Post reported on the appointment, noting Flicker's background as both a reality television personality and the daughter of a Holocaust survivor.[3] USA Today similarly covered the story, emphasizing both her entertainment career and the personal connection to the Holocaust through her father's history.[20]

The Bergen Record reported that Trump had named Flicker to the Holocaust Memorial Council Board, covering the story as a notable appointment of a New Jersey-based reality television figure to a federal advisory role.[21] Reality Tea, a publication focused on reality television, also reported on the appointment, contextualizing it within Flicker's post-Housewives career trajectory.[22]

The appointment drew both support and scrutiny, with media coverage frequently noting the juxtaposition of Flicker's reality television background with the solemn nature of the Holocaust Memorial Council's mission. However, coverage also acknowledged Flicker's personal connection to the Holocaust through her father's survival and his subsequent career in Holocaust remembrance at Yad Vashem.[3][4]

Personal Life

Flicker was previously married to Mark Flicker; the couple married in 1997 and divorced in 2007.[5] She later married Michael Campanella. Flicker has children from her marriages and has resided in the northern New Jersey area.[6]

Flicker has been open about her Israeli heritage and Jewish identity. In a 2016 interview with All About The Real Housewives, she discussed losing touch with her Jewish roots during certain periods of her life and the importance she places on reconnecting with her heritage and passing it on.[4] Her father, Mordecai Paldiel, served as the director of the Department for the Righteous Among the Nations at Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem, a role that involved identifying and honoring non-Jews who risked their lives to save Jewish people during the Holocaust.[4]

Flicker's family background and personal connection to the Holocaust have been recurring themes in her public life, from her time on The Real Housewives of New Jersey to her later political advocacy and her appointment to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council.[3]

Recognition

Flicker's career has spanned multiple fields, including matchmaking, television, podcasting, and public advocacy. Her most prominent platform was The Real Housewives of New Jersey, which made her a recognizable figure in the reality television landscape during 2016–2018. Following her departure from the series, she continued to maintain a public profile through her podcast, social media presence, and political commentary.

Her appointment by President Donald Trump to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council in May 2025 represented the most significant official recognition of her public advocacy work. The appointment was covered by major national and international outlets, including The Washington Post, USA Today, Newsweek, and The Times of London, reflecting the level of public interest the announcement generated.[3][23] The breadth of media coverage underscored both the public recognition Flicker had achieved through her television career and the significance attached to appointments to the Council, which oversees one of the most prominent Holocaust memorial institutions in the world.

Flicker's IMDb profile lists her television credits across multiple programs, documenting her career in entertainment from her VH1 series through her Bravo tenure and subsequent media appearances.[24]
