Shannon Marion Storms Beador (/bəˈdɔːr/; née Storms; born March 25, 1964) is an American reality television personality who has been a main cast member on the Bravo reality television series The Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC) since its ninth season in 2014. Born and raised in Southern California, Beador joined the long-running franchise as a housewife living in Orange County, and her presence on the show — marked by emotional candor, marital struggles, and personal reinvention — has made her one of the series' most enduring cast members. Over more than a decade on the program, she has navigated a high-profile divorce, launched a food product line, and dealt with legal issues, all while remaining a fixture of the RHOC ensemble. Beyond the show, Beador has pursued entrepreneurial ventures and has been a frequent subject of entertainment media coverage.[1]

Early Life

Shannon Marion Storms was born on March 25, 1964, in Los Angeles, California.[1] She grew up in Southern California. Her father, Gene Storms, has been referenced in various media appearances over the years; as of early 2026, Beador shared publicly about her continued close relationship with her father.[2]

Details about Beador's childhood and upbringing prior to her television career are limited in published sources. She has spoken on the show and in interviews about growing up in the Southern California area and maintaining close family ties throughout her life. Her family background and personal history became frequent topics of discussion on The Real Housewives of Orange County after she joined the cast in 2014.

Education

Beador attended the University of Southern California, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree.[1] Her educational background at the prominent Los Angeles-based university preceded her later career in television by several decades.

Career

The Real Housewives of Orange County

In 2014, Beador was announced as a new cast member joining the ninth season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Bravo's flagship franchise in the Real Housewives series. She was introduced alongside Elizabeth "Lizzie" Rovsek as one of two new housewives for the season.[3] The season nine premiere introduced viewers to Beador's life in Orange County, including her marriage, her three daughters, and her interest in holistic health and alternative medicine.[4]

From her debut season onward, Beador became a central figure in the series' storylines. During the tenth season, the show documented ongoing tensions in her personal and social life, including her interactions with other cast members.[5] Unlike some housewives who join the franchise for a limited number of seasons, Beador remained a main cast member on all subsequent seasons following her debut, establishing herself as one of the show's longest-tenured personalities.

During season fifteen, which aired in 2020, the show documented Beador and her daughters' experience with COVID-19. Beador spoke publicly about her family's battle with the virus, including the fact that her daughters tested positive for the coronavirus.[6] The season also continued to follow Beador's personal life and her evolving dynamics with fellow cast members.[7][8] During this period, Beador also shared details of her COVID-19 experience, including how she managed the illness at home with her daughters.[9]

Beador's friendships and alliances on the show became a prominent storyline over the years, including her participation in the informal group known as the "Tres Amigas," alongside fellow cast members Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson. In interviews, Beador discussed the evolution and eventual changes within this group dynamic.[10] In November 2025, when Gunvalson's return to RHOC was announced, Beador publicly expressed enthusiasm, stating she was "so excited" for her former castmate's comeback, though she indicated she was not entirely certain about a full Tres Amigas reunion.[11]

Ahead of the nineteenth season, which premiered in mid-2025, Beador described the upcoming episodes as "drama filled" in an exclusive interview.[12] In a preview for the season nineteen premiere, Beador stated that she was a "completely different person," referencing personal changes and her evolving relationship with former boyfriend John Janssen.[13] Ahead of the season nineteen reunion in September 2025, Beador debuted a notable hair transformation, which she described as getting "reunion ready."[14]

By 2025, Beador had appeared as a main cast member on the show for over a decade, spanning from season nine through season nineteen, making her one of the longest-running housewives in the Orange County edition of the franchise.[1]

Entrepreneurial Ventures

Beyond her television career, Beador pursued business ventures, most notably a food product line. She launched a line of healthy frozen meals that was sold through QVC, the television-based home shopping network. The products reflected her interest in health-conscious eating, which had been a recurring theme on the show.[15] Beador's interest in food and wellness also extended to other aspects of her public persona; she shared tips and recipes, including her approach to ordering specific food items, through Bravo's platforms.[16]

As of September 2025, Beador teased upcoming career plans, hinting at future projects beyond her role on RHOC. In an exclusive interview with Bravo, she discussed embarking on a "new chapter" that included professional endeavors she had not yet fully disclosed.[17]

Personal Life

Marriage and Divorce

Beador was married to David Beador, and the couple had three daughters together.[1] Their marriage and its difficulties were a central storyline on The Real Housewives of Orange County over several seasons. The show documented significant marital tension, including revelations about David Beador's extramarital affair, which became a major plotline during the program's run. The couple's turbulent relationship was extensively covered by entertainment media.[18]

The Beadors eventually separated, and their divorce proceedings were covered in the press. Shannon Beador publicly stated during the divorce process that her ex-husband would not communicate with her, adding to the public nature of the split.[19] The divorce settlement was eventually reached, with details reported by media outlets.[20]

Subsequent Relationships

Following her divorce, Beador entered a relationship with John Janssen, which was also documented on RHOC. The relationship and its eventual end became a storyline on the show, and as of mid-2025, Beador discussed where she stood with Janssen, including references to a legal dispute between the two.[13] In August 2025, Beador reflected on her dating life and past relationships in an exclusive interview, sharing her perspective on both her marriage and subsequent romances.[21]

Legal Issues

In July 2025, People reported that Beador had been pulled over by police and cited for driving while operating a handheld wireless device, an incident that occurred while she was on probation stemming from a previous DUI charge.[22]

Family

Beador has three daughters from her marriage to David Beador.[1] Her daughters have appeared on The Real Housewives of Orange County at various points during the series. In 2020, Beador's daughters tested positive for COVID-19, and Beador spoke about the experience of navigating the illness as a family.[6] Beador has also maintained a close relationship with her father, Gene Storms, and shared updates about him publicly as recently as January 2026.[2]

Recognition

Beador's long tenure on The Real Housewives of Orange County has made her one of the most recognized personalities from the franchise. Having joined in season nine and remained through at least season nineteen, she is among the longest-serving cast members in the show's history. Her storylines — encompassing her marriage, divorce, health journey, entrepreneurial efforts, and legal issues — have generated consistent media coverage from outlets including People, Entertainment Weekly, Us Magazine, E! News, Entertainment Tonight, and Vulture.[3][18][5][10][8]

Her presence on the show has contributed to the ongoing cultural footprint of the Real Housewives franchise, and she has been a frequent subject of entertainment news reporting and discussion throughout her more than ten-year run on the series.[1] Her IMDB profile lists her credits in connection with the long-running reality series.[23]
