Text.ai's primary product, Alfi, is an AI agent that participates in group chats, aiming to act as a socially aware assistant that can understand the dynamics and preferences of each participant. The platform's features include integrated restaurant discovery and reservation through Yelp, collaborative AI image generation, a shared social calendar, group reminders, and a "Group Wrapped" feature that surfaces conversation statistics such as the most active participants and recurring inside jokes. According to the company, Alfi has processed over 10 million messages.

The company positions itself within a broader trend of younger users, particularly Generation Z, shifting away from broadcast-style social media platforms toward smaller, more private group communication. Text.ai is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area and operates in the artificial intelligence, consumer, and social networking sectors.

Shah has described himself as a first-principles thinker with interests in technology, science, and business. He has also written on Medium and developed several side projects throughout his career.
