Rhim Shah is an entrepreneur and product leader who is the co-founder and CEO of Arva AI, an artificial intelligence platform that automates financial crime compliance processes for banks and fintech companies. Arva AI was part of the Y Combinator Summer 2024 batch.[1]
Career
Prior to founding Arva AI, Shah held several product management roles in the technology and fintech sectors. He worked as a product manager on the financial crime team at Revolut from July 2022 to November 2023, where he led efforts related to compliance and fraud prevention. He subsequently served as a Senior Product Manager II at Job&Talent from December 2023 to June 2024. Earlier in his career, Shah held internships at Google and Amazon Web Services.[2]
Shah's entrepreneurial experience includes co-founding Carbon Codes, a sustainability-focused startup that was acquired by VeganCard Ltd. He also founded Haptoid Web Development and Vir Publishers earlier in his career.
Shah co-founded Arva AI in July 2024 after identifying inefficiencies in manual compliance workflows during his time at Revolut, where large teams of human analysts performed tens of thousands of reviews daily. The company develops AI agents that automate anti-money laundering (AML), Know Your Business (KYB), and Know Your Customer (KYC) operations. Arva AI's products include Screening AI, which the company states can reduce screening alerts by up to 91%; KYB/KYC AI for accelerating customer onboarding; and Transaction Monitoring AI for handling AML transaction monitoring alerts. The platform is designed to automate a significant portion of manual compliance work that would otherwise require human analysts.[3]
In January 2025, Arva AI raised a $3 million seed round led by Gradient Ventures, Google's early-stage AI fund. The company's clients include OakNorth Bank, which reported an 84% reduction in screening alerts using the platform. In September 2025, Arva AI announced a partnership with FairPlay to advance compliant agentic AI in financial services.
In addition to his role at Arva AI, Shah serves as a product advisor at Kastle, another Y Combinator Summer 2024 company, and is a member of The House of Fraud, a community focused on fraud prevention in fintech.
