Rachel Wang is an entrepreneur and the co-founder and CEO of HeartByte, a generative AI startup that operates a content platform called Storio, designed to help creators write and publish fiction significantly faster using AI tools. The company was part of Y Combinator's Winter 2024 batch and is based in San Francisco.[1]

Career

Prior to founding HeartByte, Wang served as Chief Data Officer at Wish, a cross-border e-commerce company. She holds a Master of Data Science from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Peking University.[1]

Wang co-founded HeartByte in 2023 alongside Xinyue Liang, who serves as the company's CTO. The company developed Storio, an AI-powered content platform where creators can write original fiction or derivative works based on existing fictional worlds. The platform functions as an AI co-pilot for story writing, offering assistance with plot development, character dialogue, and overcoming writer's block. According to the company, creators can write and publish fiction up to ten times faster using the tool. Storio also enables users to transform their written stories into interactive visual experiences.[2]

HeartByte raised a $500,000 pre-seed round in February 2024, with Pioneer Fund and Y Combinator as lead investors. The company operates in the generative AI, consumer entertainment, and social media sectors.[1]

The platform is positioned as both a creative tool and a community space, allowing users to engage with fictional worlds through reading and creating interactive stories. The service is offered for free to users.
