Porsha Dyanne Williams (born June 22, 1981) is an American television personality, singer, actress, and activist who rose to prominence as a cast member of the Bravo reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Williams joined the show in its fifth season in 2012 and remained a principal cast member until 2021, before returning to the series in 2024.[1] Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, she established herself as a recognizable figure in reality television over more than a decade, while also pursuing ventures in music, publishing, and television hosting. Williams served as co-host of the syndicated entertainment news program Dish Nation from 2013 until 2021, and co-hosted Bravo's Chat Room in 2020 alongside Gizelle Bryant, Hannah Berner, and Kate Chastain. In 2014, she released her debut single, "Flatline," and in 2021, she published her memoir, The Pursuit of Porsha. Williams has also appeared on The New Celebrity Apprentice and starred in her own spin-off series, Porsha's Family Matters. Her personal life, including two marriages and her activism, has frequently been the subject of public attention and media coverage.

Early Life

Porsha Dyanne Williams was born on June 22, 1981, in Atlanta, Georgia.[2] She grew up in Atlanta and has maintained close ties to her family throughout her public life. Her mother, Diane Williams, has been a recurring presence both in her personal life and on her television appearances.[3]

Williams's family background has been a point of discussion in her public life. Her family history in Atlanta placed her within a community with deep roots in the city, and she has spoken about her upbringing and family connections in various media interviews and on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.[4]

Prior to entering the world of reality television, Williams had some experience in front of the camera. Reports indicated she had appeared in music videos earlier in her career, a detail that surfaced during her time on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.[5]

Education

Williams attended American InterContinental University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT).[6] The university, which has campuses in the Atlanta metropolitan area, provided Williams with a degree in a technical field, though she would ultimately pursue a career path centered on entertainment and media.

Career

The Real Housewives of Atlanta

Williams joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta beginning with the show's fifth season, which premiered in 2012. At the time of her joining, she was married to former NFL quarterback Kordell Stewart, and her introduction to the series coincided with her status as a football wife in Atlanta society.[7][8]

One of the most discussed moments from Williams's early tenure on the show occurred during the sixth season, when she made comments during a cast trip that suggested she believed the Underground Railroad was an actual railroad. The moment went viral and became one of the most talked-about scenes from the series.[9][10]

Another significant on-screen moment came during the sixth season reunion in 2014, when Williams and fellow cast member Kenya Moore were involved in a physical altercation. The incident received extensive media coverage and became one of the most notable reunion confrontations in the history of the Real Housewives franchise.[11]

Williams continued as a cast member through subsequent seasons. During the eighth season, the show's cast also included Kim Fields.[12] Williams remained on the series until 2021, when she departed following the show's thirteenth season. She subsequently starred in her own Bravo spin-off, Porsha's Family Matters, which focused on her family dynamics and personal relationships. In 2024, Williams rejoined the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, returning to the franchise that had launched her to fame more than a decade earlier.

Dish Nation and Television Hosting

From 2013 until 2021, Williams served as a co-host of Dish Nation, a syndicated entertainment news and talk show. The role provided her with a steady platform outside of the Real Housewives franchise and allowed her to develop her skills as a television presenter and commentator on pop culture and entertainment news.

In 2020, Williams expanded her hosting portfolio when she was selected as a co-host of Bravo's Chat Room, a late-night talk show featuring cast members from across the Bravo network. She hosted the program alongside Gizelle Bryant of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Hannah Berner of Summer House, and Kate Chastain of Below Deck. The show featured the hosts discussing events from various Bravo series and current pop culture topics.

The New Celebrity Apprentice

In 2017, Williams appeared as a contestant on The New Celebrity Apprentice, the fifteenth season of the Celebrity Apprentice franchise. The season featured a cast of celebrity contestants including Snooki and Kyle Richards, among others.[13] Williams's participation on the show was followed by media coverage assessing her progress during the competition.[14]

Music Career

In 2014, Williams ventured into music with the release of her debut single, "Flatline." The release of the single was preceded by promotional appearances and teasers, during which Williams discussed her aspirations in the music industry.[15] The single's release generated media attention, in part due to Williams's established visibility from The Real Housewives of Atlanta.[16]

Publishing

In 2021, Williams published her memoir, The Pursuit of Porsha. The book offered her personal account of her life story, including her upbringing, career, relationships, and experiences in the public eye. The memoir marked Williams's entry into the publishing world and provided a more in-depth narrative than what audiences had seen on reality television.

The Traitors

By 2026, Williams had expanded her reality television presence further, appearing on the fourth season of The Traitors, another competition-based reality series.[17]

Personal Life

Marriage to Kordell Stewart

Williams married former NFL quarterback Kordell Stewart on May 21, 2011. The couple's relationship was featured prominently during Williams's initial seasons on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. In 2013, Stewart filed for divorce. Williams stated publicly that she learned about the divorce filing through Twitter.[18] The divorce proceedings played out publicly, and the separation was widely covered by media outlets. Stewart also made allegations regarding Williams's role as a stepmother during the proceedings.[19] Following the divorce, reports indicated that Williams faced financial difficulties.[20] The divorce was finalized in 2013, and Williams subsequently reverted to using her maiden name professionally.[21]

Engagement and Pregnancy

Williams announced in 2018 that she was expecting a child, a moment she described as significant given that she had previously experienced a miscarriage.[22] She also became engaged around that time.[23]

Marriage to Simon Guobadia

Williams married Simon Guobadia in 2022. Their relationship attracted significant public attention, in part because Guobadia had previously been married to Falynn Guobadia, who had appeared on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The marriage between Williams and Guobadia ended in divorce in 2025. As of early 2026, the two were involved in ongoing legal proceedings, with Williams publicly criticizing what she described as Guobadia's "deceptive tactics" in court filings related to their divorce.[24][25]

Relationship with Patrice "Sway" McKinney

In 2025 and 2026, Williams entered a relationship with Patrice "Sway" McKinney, marking her first publicly known same-sex relationship. The couple's relationship has been documented through social media and media coverage. In early 2026, the pair were photographed together during a trip to Bali, Indonesia, where they stayed at a luxury accommodation described as a converted Boeing passenger jet.[26] McKinney publicly shared messages about their relationship on social media, describing details of how they connected.[27][28] Williams addressed rumors of an engagement to McKinney in early 2026, setting the record straight about the nature of their relationship at that point.[29]

Recognition

Williams's primary recognition has come through her long-running role on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, one of the highest-rated and most culturally discussed installments of the Real Housewives franchise. Her tenure on the show, spanning from 2012 to 2021 and resuming in 2024, placed her among the longest-serving cast members in the series' history.

Her 2014 altercation with Kenya Moore at the season six reunion became one of the most widely discussed moments in the history of the Real Housewives franchise, generating extensive media coverage from outlets including ABC News.[30] Williams's personal storylines—including her divorces, her pregnancy announcement, and her relationships—have consistently generated coverage from major entertainment publications such as People, Us Magazine, and E! News.

Beyond The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Williams received additional recognition through her co-hosting role on Dish Nation and her appearance on The New Celebrity Apprentice. Her memoir, The Pursuit of Porsha, published in 2021, provided another platform through which she shared her experiences and received public attention.

Williams has also garnered recognition for her activism, though the specific details of her activism work have been documented across various media sources throughout her career. Her willingness to engage publicly with personal and social issues has contributed to her profile beyond entertainment.

Legacy

Porsha Williams has built a career across multiple facets of the entertainment industry over a period spanning more than two decades. Her tenure on The Real Housewives of Atlanta established her as a central figure in one of the most prominent franchises in reality television. As one of the show's longer-serving cast members, Williams's storylines—ranging from her marriages and divorces to her pregnancy and evolving personal identity—have mirrored broader cultural conversations about relationships, family, and personal growth in the public eye.

Her transition from reality television personality to television host, singer, author, and activist reflects a career trajectory that extended beyond the confines of a single franchise. Williams's co-hosting role on Dish Nation demonstrated her ability to sustain a career in entertainment media outside of the unscripted reality format, while her memoir offered a more controlled and personal narrative than reality television typically allows.

Williams's public relationships have also contributed to her cultural footprint. Her 2025–2026 relationship with Patrice "Sway" McKinney represented a notable personal development that she shared openly with the public, contributing to broader visibility of same-sex relationships in mainstream entertainment media.

As of 2026, Williams continues to be an active presence in the reality television landscape, having returned to The Real Housewives of Atlanta and appeared on The Traitors. Her sustained relevance over more than a decade in an industry known for rapid turnover speaks to her ability to remain a compelling television presence across multiple formats and platforms.
