Nishant Hooda is a software engineer and entrepreneur based in San Francisco, California. He is the founder and CEO of Docket, a Y Combinator–backed startup that develops AI-driven quality assurance tools for web application testing.

Career

Before founding Docket, Hooda worked as a software engineer at Stripe, where he was part of the core API services team. That team was responsible for maintaining Stripe's API gateway — the entry point for all of the company's API traffic — scaling it to handle 30,000 requests per second with 99.9999% uptime.

Prior to Stripe, Hooda was a software engineer at Brex, a corporate card and financial services company. At Brex, he received the fastest promotion to Senior Engineer at the company at the time, following his work launching Brex's first procurement product. He also built the full synthetic test suite for Brex's Bill Pay offering, an experience that he has cited as a direct inspiration for creating Docket.

Docket

Docket is an AI-driven quality assurance platform designed to automate end-to-end testing for web applications. The product uses a vision-first approach to cover critical user flows, reduce flaky tests, and detect regressions before they reach end users. Tests can be created using natural language steps or through recorded interactions, and the platform supports CI/CD integration and execution at scale.

The company is backed by Y Combinator, as well as investors including Ignite Ventures and Progressive Ventures. Docket was part of Y Combinator's Spring 2025 batch, which included a significant number of startups focused on agentic AI applications.

Hooda is a member of the Forbes Business Council.
