Michael Korovkin is an American software engineer and entrepreneur who is the co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) of Mimos, a company that helps businesses rank in AI-powered search engines. Mimos is a member of the Y Combinator Summer 2025 batch.[1]

Career

Before co-founding Mimos, Korovkin worked as a software development engineer at Amazon, progressing from an intern at Amazon Lab126 in 2020 to Software Development Engineer I (2021–2023) and Software Development Engineer II (2023–2025). He also held an engineering role at Coinbase in 2025, where he reportedly architected petabyte-scale data infrastructure.[2] Earlier in his career, Korovkin founded Galactic Imports (2017–2021) and FunctionZeta (2020–present), and co-founded SociaRep (2024–2025).

At Amazon, Korovkin is credited with leading the launch and integration of AI into Amazon Alexa devices. His professional background spans AI, large-scale infrastructure, and online trust systems.[3]

Korovkin co-founded Mimos with Rohit Sirosh, with whom he has collaborated on various technical projects since sixth grade—a partnership spanning approximately 14 years. Their earlier projects together included mobile applications and algorithmic trading systems.[4]

Mimos

Mimos operates in the artificial intelligence and software as a service (SaaS) sectors, focusing on what the company describes as "answer engine optimization." The platform addresses the shift in consumer search behavior toward AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews, where users receive synthesized answers rather than traditional lists of links.[5]

The company's platform uses automated agents to identify visibility gaps in AI search results, generate compliance-aligned content in a client's brand voice, and deploy technical fixes and content through integration with content management systems. Mimos initially targeted regulated industries, with a particular focus on plaintiff law firms, offering a combined system of competitive intelligence, high-intent advertising on Google and ChatGPT, AI search visibility optimization, and automated lead intake triage.[6]

Mimos launched publicly in February 2026 through Y Combinator's launch platform.[7]
