Max Hammer is an American entrepreneur and the co-founder and CEO of CrowdVolt, a technology company building infrastructure for the live events industry. CrowdVolt participated in Y Combinator's Winter 2024 batch and is based in New York City.[1]
Career
Hammer co-founded CrowdVolt alongside Josh Karol and Aria Mohseni. The company describes itself as "the integration layer for live events infrastructure" and initially launched as an automated marketplace focused on raves and electronic dance music (EDM) events. The platform facilitates the buying and selling of tickets for EDM and rave events, emphasizing secure and straightforward transactions. As of early 2025, CrowdVolt listed events at venues across the United States, including events during Miami Music Week.[2]
Hammer is a graduate of Staples High School in Westport, Connecticut. In November 2024, he appeared alongside Karol and other young founders at a "Young Innovators" forum hosted by Startup Westport at the Westport Library. The panel, moderated by Molly O'Shea, featured recent Staples graduates who had founded companies while still in college or shortly thereafter. Panelists discussed the experience of building and running startup businesses at a young age. At the time of the event, all panelists were described as being no older than 25. During the forum, the founders credited Staples High School's computer science program with providing foundational tools for coding and collaboration.[3]
Within CrowdVolt, Hammer serves as CEO while Karol serves as CTO. The company operates in the marketplace, entertainment, music, and infrastructure sectors. CrowdVolt was founded in 2024 and remains active as of 2025.[4]
