Mark Osler is an American law professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law and one of the country's leading authorities on federal clemency and pardons. A former federal prosecutor, he has argued before the United States Supreme Court and has written several books on sentencing and clemency law.[1]
Clemency Work
Osler founded the first law school clinic devoted entirely to federal clemency petitions, and has helped hundreds of people navigate the pardon and commutation process.[1]
His scholarship advocates sentencing and clemency policy grounded in principles of human dignity, and he has proposed structural reform of how clemency petitions are reviewed within the executive branch.[1]
