Mariem Ould Ismail is a French entrepreneur and the CEO and co-founder of Stockline, an artificial intelligence-native enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform designed for food wholesalers. The company, which participated in Y Combinator's Summer 2025 batch, automates manual tasks such as order entry, invoice processing, and document generation for wholesale food businesses.[1]

Career

Ould Ismail attended École Polytechnique in France, where she was part of the class of 2022 (X22) and a member of the basketball section.[2] According to the company's Y Combinator profile, she subsequently attended Stanford University but dropped out to pursue Stockline.

The inspiration for Stockline came from Ould Ismail's family background. Her father is a fish wholesaler, and during her high school years, she spent summers helping him with his business. She observed him spending hours each day retyping orders, managing invoices, and handling administrative paperwork — inefficiencies she would later seek to address through technology.

Ould Ismail co-founded Stockline with Moncef Djafri, a fellow École Polytechnique alumnus who had been coding and building software since the age of 13. Djafri reportedly dropped out of MIT to work on the company. Together, they built Stockline as an AI-native ERP system that captures orders from multiple channels — including email, SMS, WhatsApp, and phone calls — and pushes them directly into the ERP without manual data entry. The platform also uses AI to read supplier invoices and update stock levels automatically, generate invoices and delivery notes, monitor sales activity through an intelligent CRM, and provide business intelligence tools.

Stockline raised a $500,000 seed round in September 2025, with participation from Y Combinator, Entrepreneur First, and LombardStreet Ventures. The company participated in Y Combinator's Summer 2025 batch and presented at the program's Demo Day in September 2025.

In December 2025, Ould Ismail appeared on BFM Business, a French business television channel, to discuss Stockline and its AI agents for wholesalers. The company launched publicly in early 2026 and is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
