Luofei Chen is an American entrepreneur and co-founder and CEO of Oki AI (formally Oki Applications Inc.), a Y Combinator (W25)-backed software company that provides AI-powered project tracking and personalized progress updates for engineering teams and company leaders.[1]

Early life and education

Chen studied mechanical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.[2] While an undergraduate at Berkeley, Chen co-founded Oki Karaoke in September 2018 alongside Noah Adriany and Aayush Tyagi, a startup that aimed to bring soundproof karaoke pods, popular in Asia, to the United States market. The venture planned to install its first booth at Westfield San Francisco Centre.[3]

Career

Chen is the co-founder and CEO of Oki AI, which was part of Y Combinator's Winter 2025 batch.[4] The company's product integrates with workplace tools such as Slack, GitHub, Jira, and other documentation platforms to automatically read code commits, messages, tickets, and documents. Using artificial intelligence, Oki synthesizes this information into interactive daily and weekly progress reports for team leaders and managers. Each item in the reports is clickable, linking back to its original source. The platform also provides AI-generated insights into why projects may be off track, going beyond standard OKR tracking.[5]

The company has been described as functioning like "a brilliant coworker who reads every Slack thread, code commit, issue, and ticket" to keep leaders informed about their teams' progress.[6]

Chen is a member of the Forbes Business Council and has written about topics including AI adoption and product-led sales strategies in business-to-business versus consumer markets.[7]
