Aria Vikram is an American entrepreneur and the co-founder and CEO of Parachute, a startup that builds infrastructure for hospitals to evaluate, monitor, and deploy clinical artificial intelligence systems. The company was part of Y Combinator's Summer 2025 (S25) batch.[1]
Career
Prior to founding Parachute, Vikram worked as a natural language processing (NLP) researcher at Columbia University and deployed AI chatbots for physicians at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC).[2] He was a Google Code-in Grand Prize winner, an alumnus of the Research Science Institute (RSI), and a USAID awardee. He was also a finalist in the 2019 Breakthrough Junior Challenge.
Vikram co-founded Parachute alongside Tony Yamin, who serves as the company's chief technology officer. The company addresses a growing challenge in healthcare: as hospitals and health systems rapidly adopt AI tools for clinical use, they often lack the internal infrastructure to properly vet, monitor, and govern those systems. Parachute provides a platform that combines model evaluation with continuous monitoring, aiming to make AI adoption in clinical settings safe, compliant, and scalable.
The platform is designed to help hospitals maintain compliance with a range of regulatory and standards frameworks, including those set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), ISO, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). According to the company, Parachute helps hospitals reduce the time required for committee reviews of AI tools, detect issues such as bias and model drift, create auditable documentation trails, and minimize the need for additional staffing through the use of AI agents.[3]
As of 2025, Parachute is a two-person company operating in the healthcare IT sector. It was included in a Forbes article listing promising startups from Y Combinator's Summer 2025 batch.
