Lander Degreve is a Belgian entrepreneur and the co-founder and chief executive officer of Spott, an AI-native applicant tracking system (ATS) and customer relationship management (CRM) platform designed for recruiting and staffing firms. Spott was part of the Y Combinator Winter 2025 batch.[1]

Career

Prior to founding Spott, Degreve worked at Bain & Company, where he was involved in building an AI-powered job matching tool. He also developed a generative AI consulting-case interviewer as a side project. Earlier in his career, he completed an internship in investment banking at JPMorgan. He holds a master's degree from Bocconi University (SDA Bocconi School of Management), with a background in financial statistics.

Degreve co-founded Spott alongside Samuel Smeys, who serves as chief technology officer, and Manu Vanderveeren, who serves as chief operating officer. All three co-founders previously worked in management consulting — Smeys at BCG and Vanderveeren at McKinsey. The company launched its platform in November 2024 and is based in Leuven, Belgium, with a presence in San Francisco, California.

Spott provides an integrated ATS and CRM platform built for recruitment and staffing agencies. The company positions its product as a replacement for legacy recruitment software that requires extensive manual work and relies on fragmented add-on tools. The platform incorporates AI agents across the recruiting workflow, including candidate management, matching, pipeline tracking, and reporting, consolidating functions that traditionally required multiple separate tools into a single system.[2]

In May 2025, Spott raised $3.2 million in seed funding. The round was led by Base10 Partners, with participation from Y Combinator and Fortino Capital. At the time of the funding announcement, the company reported that clients had migrated to Spott from incumbent platforms including Bullhorn, Jobadder, Loxo, Vincere, Recruit CRM, and others. The company had approximately 20 employees as of its job listings on the Y Combinator Work at a Startup platform.
