Kevin Bi is an American software engineer and entrepreneur. He is a co-founder of Percival, an AI-powered tool that accelerates data analysis for researchers. The company is a participant in Y Combinator's X25 batch.[1]

Career

Early career

Bi graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics in 2021. During his time at Harvard, he served as president of the Harvard Open Data Project and worked as a course assistant for mathematics and economics courses. He also held a position as a research assistant at the Harvard Decision Science Laboratory.[2]

While at university, Bi completed internships at Palantir Technologies, Bridgewater Associates (as an investment associate intern), and Allianz Life.[3]

Palantir Technologies

Following graduation, Bi joined Palantir Technologies as a software engineer in July 2021, where he eventually became a team lead. He led the Simulation and Unmanned Systems team and served as lead backend developer for the Palantir Ground Control Station (part of the Gotham product line) as well as the Video & Sensor Inference Platform. He remained at Palantir until April 2025.[3]

Percival

In April 2025, Bi co-founded Percival. The company develops an AI-powered tool, marketed under the product name Percy, designed to help researchers explore, analyze, and transform real-world data within their existing workspaces. Percy can write code to clean and explore datasets, suggest analytical methods tailored to a researcher's goals, and interpret results. The product is available as a free download.[4]

Percival was accepted into Y Combinator's X25 batch. The company is based in the United States; Bi is located in New Jersey.[3]
