Career
Parashar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University.[2]
Before founding Powder, Parashar held product and leadership roles at several prominent technology and financial services companies, including PayPal, eBay, Square (Block), and Addepar. He also worked at RCI, a startup that was later acquired by Addepar, as well as at Nextag and Howcast Media.[3]
In 2013, Parashar founded Coin, a fintech startup that developed a smart card capable of consolidating multiple credit, debit, and gift cards into a single electronic device. The company attracted significant media attention, with Parashar appearing on CNBC and being profiled in Forbes to discuss the product.[4][5] The Coin card began shipping to consumers in 2015.[6]
Parashar co-founded Powder, which uses large language models to help wealth advisors create personalized sales proposals for prospective clients. The platform's core features include a document parser for brokerage, tax, and estate documents; an AI meeting notetaker that captures client-specific insights; and a portfolio analysis tool that evaluates returns, risk, and fees.[7] Powder claims document analysis accuracy of over 99 percent across a range of financial document types including brokerage statements, 401(k) accounts, IRAs, balance sheets, and estate documents.[8]
In July 2024, Powder raised $5 million in seed funding.[9] In October 2025, the company formed a client advisory board comprising executives from ten wealth management firms, including Angeles, IEQ Capital, and OnePoint BFG, to guide AI adoption in the industry.[10]
Parashar is also an angel investor supporting early-stage startups.
