Jordan Murphy is an American entrepreneur and sports betting educator known as the co-founder and CEO of BeeBettor, a sports betting aggregation platform that participated in Y Combinator's Summer 2024 batch.[1] Described as "Robinhood for sports prediction markets," BeeBettor aimed to simplify the sports betting experience by consolidating multiple sportsbook accounts into a single application. Murphy later shut down the app and transitioned to a role focused on bettor education and price awareness.
Career
Murphy's entry into sports betting followed a common path: he initially believed that sports knowledge alone was sufficient to beat the betting market. He has acknowledged that this approach was not successful. After encountering material explaining the concept of pricing and expected value (EV) in sports betting, his perspective shifted significantly. With a background as a math major, Murphy found that pricing models and EV-based strategies aligned with his quantitative training. He has stated that the logic behind these concepts resonated with him immediately.[2]
Murphy co-founded BeeBettor to address what he saw as a fragmented sports betting landscape. At the time of the company's launch, sports bettors often maintained accounts across more than 40 different betting applications, each requiring a separate know-your-customer (KYC) verification process. Once accounts were established and funded, finding the best available price on a given wager required the use of third-party comparison tools. BeeBettor sought to aggregate these accounts into a single interface that would automatically surface the best available price for users.
The company was accepted into Y Combinator's Summer 2024 batch. Despite this backing, Murphy ultimately made the decision to shut down the BeeBettor app. In a December 2025 appearance on The Modern Edge podcast, he discussed the realities of building a product in the betting tools space and the factors behind his decision to walk away from the company.
Following the closure of BeeBettor, Murphy shifted his focus to education within the sports betting ecosystem. His work centers on the concept of "price awareness" — helping bettors understand how pricing works across sportsbooks and how to identify value. He has positioned himself as a resource for bettors navigating the growing landscape of betting tools and data-driven wagering strategies.
