Jason Sullivan is an American entrepreneur and software executive. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Distro, an artificial intelligence-powered sales platform designed for industrial wholesale distributors. The company participated in Y Combinator's Summer 2024 batch.[1]

Career

Prior to founding Distro, Sullivan held several positions in technology and finance. He was co-founder and chief technology officer at Vested, and also held roles at Coatue, PeerIQ, and Hi-G-Tek.

Sullivan founded Distro in 2022. The company, based in Palo Alto, California, develops an all-in-one AI-powered sales platform tailored for counter staff, inside sales teams, and outside sales representatives at industrial wholesale distributors in sectors such as HVAC/R, plumbing, and electrical supply. The platform functions as an AI co-pilot for sales representatives, assisting with tasks including part and accessory lookups, cross-referencing and product recommendations, cross-selling and upselling, takeoff and commercial quoting, and quote and order entry automation.[2]

Distro's approach involves leveraging large amounts of raw industry data — such as product catalogs, pricing information, and sales histories — to provide AI-driven assistance that supports human sales representatives rather than replacing them. In a 2024 appearance on the Distribution Talk podcast, Sullivan discussed building AI technology "with the human mind in mind," emphasizing the platform's role in augmenting the capabilities of distribution sales staff.

The company was accepted into Y Combinator's Summer 2024 batch and operates in the SaaS, B2B, manufacturing, supply chain, and AI sectors. Distro's client base includes multiple wholesale distribution companies, and the platform is used by several distributor associations and firms across the United States.
