Jason Stockwell is a limnologist and Director/Professor at the Rubenstein Ecosystem Science Laboratory at the University of Vermont.[1] His research addresses lake ecology, including food web dynamics in large lakes and ecological processes under winter ice cover.[2]
Education
Stockwell earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northland College between 1987 and 1991.[3] He completed a PhD in Zoology at the University of Toronto - Mississauga between 1991 and 1996.[4]
Career
Since 2011, Stockwell has served as Director and Professor at the Rubenstein Ecosystem Science Laboratory at the University of Vermont.[5]

Stockwell has received four grants from the National Science Foundation totaling $413,681.[9] These include a 2018 workshop award of $14,865 for a "Workshop to Establish a Collaborative Global Experiment to Understand Coregonid Adaptive Response to Changing Thermal Regimes," awarded to the University of Vermont & State Agricultural College.[10] He also received a 2014 award of $318,650 for an REU Site project on "Interdisciplinary Research on Human Impacts in the Lake Champlain Ecosystem."[11] Two related 2010 and 2011 collaborative awards, totaling $45,078 and $35,088 respectively, supported the CAMEO project examining trade-offs between abundance and condition in fishery ecosystems, involving the Gulf of Maine Research Institute and the University of Vermont & State Agricultural College.[12]
