Jamie Gleason is a geoscientist at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire. Gleason's research addresses sedimentary provenance, isotope geochemistry, and the stratigraphic record of large sediment routing systems such as the Bengal Fan, as well as mercury isotope signatures linked to past environmental change.[1]

Gleason's work has examined the Bengal Fan sediment archive as a record of Himalayan tectonics, climate, and drainage routing changes, including studies of allogenic and autogenic signals in its deep-sea stratigraphy and the use of detrital-zircon U-Pb records to identify signatures of climate change.[3][4][5]
Other research has applied mercury isotope analysis to reconstruct paleoenvironmental conditions, including isotopic signatures of mercury contamination in latest Permian oceans, mercury cycling in the paleo Arctic Ocean during the Eocene and Quaternary, and biogenic carbonate mercury records linked to the Late Cretaceous Deccan Traps.[6][7][8]
Gleason has also contributed to research on strontium isotopes in ostrich eggshell beads, which revealed persistent macroscale social networking across late Quaternary southern Africa, published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America.[9]
