Jakub Cichon is a software engineer and entrepreneur based in the United States. He is the co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) of Fixpoint, a platform that automates the sourcing, vetting, and management of expert annotators for artificial intelligence data training projects. Fixpoint was accepted into Y Combinator's F25 (Fall 2025) batch.[1]
Career
Cichon began his career as a software engineering intern at FactSet in 2012, subsequently joining the company full-time as a software engineer from 2013 to 2015. He then served as lead backend engineer at Often from 2015 to 2016. From 2016 to 2021, Cichon worked at Oscar Health, progressing from software engineer to senior software engineer over the course of his tenure.[2]
In 2022, Cichon co-founded Capix, a startup that participated in Y Combinator's S22 (Summer 2022) batch. He served as co-founder of Capix from 2022 to 2023. In 2023, he co-founded Fixpoint alongside Dylan Mikus, taking on the role of CTO. Mikus serves as the company's chief executive officer.[3]
Fixpoint
Fixpoint operates as a staffing and vetting platform for AI data annotation work, which the company has described informally as "Uber for AI trainers and human-in-the-loop supervisors." The platform connects AI data companies with networks of pre-vetted domain experts — including professionals in law, medicine, software engineering, STEM fields, and linguistics — who perform data annotation and evaluation tasks used to train AI models. The company offers two primary services: a white-glove expert staffing service capable of assembling teams of hundreds of qualified annotators within weeks, and a Worker Vetting API that automates candidate screening and fraud detection.[4]
The company was founded on the premise that the traditional process of staffing people for AI training data and evaluation projects was highly manual and inefficient. Fixpoint uses AI-driven automation to handle sourcing, vetting, annotator management, and payroll, with the goal of making the process faster and less expensive for AI data companies. The platform operates across the artificial intelligence, machine learning, marketplace, B2B, and recruiting sectors.[5]
