Both companies participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2024 batch.[1]

Career

Margerum has spent much of his career working in CRM and sales technology. In a July 2025 LinkedIn post announcing the launch of crmCopilot, he stated that he had spent his career in CRMs and sales tech, noting that he had previously worked at Salesforce.[2]

Prior to crmCopilot, Margerum co-founded Northbeam, a company listed on his Crunchbase profile. He subsequently co-founded Quantic, a sales intelligence startup, where he serves as co-founder and CEO. Quantic participated in Y Combinator's Winter 2024 batch and was described as reshaping sales intelligence by providing fresh, personalized insights to sales teams. In June 2024, Margerum authored a guest post for the Hawk Hill Ventures newsletter titled "So you want to start a SaaS company?", drawing on his experience as a SaaS founder.

Margerum later co-founded crmCopilot, which was also listed in the Y Combinator Winter 2024 cohort. The company developed an AI-powered assistant designed specifically for front-office teams using Salesforce. crmCopilot aimed to reduce the manual work associated with CRM maintenance by offering three core features: automated CRM updates that intelligently detect when data needs attention and draft updates for single-click approval; proactive task management that identifies follow-ups, deadlines, and action items; and a global search function allowing users to find information across emails, CRM data, calendar events, call recordings, and documents.[1]

The company was categorized within the sales, sales enablement, automation, and AI sectors. As of the available Y Combinator listing, crmCopilot's status is listed as "Inactive," and its website is no longer operational.[3] The company had approximately two employees during its period of operation.
