Gordy Sun is an American entrepreneur and the founder of Lakonia, a technology company that develops an AI-powered command and control platform for law enforcement and military applications. The company, backed by Y Combinator as part of its Fall 2025 batch, focuses on delivering real-time situational awareness in tactical environments through automated transcription and analysis of radio communications.[1]
Career
Sun studied at Stanford University.[2] He is based in Los Altos, California, in the Silicon Valley region.
Sun founded Lakonia to address communication failures in high-stakes tactical operations. The company's platform is designed for first responders, law enforcement agencies, and military units, providing AI-driven tools that transcribe, analyze, and synthesize voice radio communications in real time.[3]
The Lakonia system operates in three stages. First, AI-powered speech recognition transcribes radio communications in real time, including in noisy environments, with the company claiming approximately 95% transcription accuracy and processing latency of under 100 milliseconds. The platform is designed to adapt to different voices, accents, and tactical terminology, and includes translation capabilities for multilingual operations. Second, the system performs intelligent analysis to extract critical information such as coordinates, threats, and objectives, generating actionable recommendations based on the data. Third, the platform provides visualization and alerting tools across both desktop and mobile applications, enabling command centers and field personnel to coordinate responses with shared situational awareness.[4]
Lakonia is categorized within the GovTech and natural language processing (NLP) sectors. The company was accepted into Y Combinator's Fall 2025 batch and operates out of the San Francisco Bay Area.[5]
