Gabriel Venegas is an academic in civil and environmental engineering at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire. His research concerns underwater acoustics, including sound propagation in seagrass meadows and the geoacoustic properties of seabed sediments.[1]

Education

Venegas received a PhD from the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied from 2013 to 2019.[2]

Career

Venegas joined the University of New Hampshire in 2020 as a post-doctoral research associate at the Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping.[3] He then served as a Research Assistant Professor at the Center for Acoustics Research and Education from 2021 to 2023.[4] Since 2023, he has held the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of New Hampshire.[5]
