Erick Enriquez is an American entrepreneur and software engineer who is the co-founder and CEO of InQuery, an artificial intelligence-powered medical record review platform. InQuery was part of the Y Combinator Winter 2024 batch.[1]
Career
Enriquez began his career as a data infrastructure engineer at DoorDash. He subsequently joined Hearth AI, where he worked on relationship management products designed to help users manage their professional networks.[2]
Enriquez co-founded InQuery, which operates as a fully automated medical record review platform serving the insurance and legal industries. The platform uses AI to index, label, and summarize patient medical records, enabling physicians, attorneys, and claims professionals to understand patient histories without manually reviewing large volumes of documents. InQuery's technology processes unstructured records—such as scanned PDFs, provider notes, and legal filings—and surfaces key insights relevant to medical-legal cases.[3]
The company participated in Y Combinator's Winter 2024 batch and has received backing from investors including Y Combinator, General Catalyst, DRW Venture Capital, and Amino Capital.[3]
InQuery has focused on serving the workers' compensation insurance market, where accurate review of medical records is critical for claims adjustment and reserve estimation. The platform is used by claims adjusters, attorneys, and physicians to deduplicate, summarize, and organize medical-legal records, reducing case review times from days to minutes.
Prior to the company's focus on medical record review, InQuery had operated in the data infrastructure space. An earlier description of the company characterized it as a Snowflake alternative built on open-source technologies for scaling data workloads. The company subsequently pivoted to its current focus on AI-powered medical record review for the insurance and legal sectors.
Enriquez has spoken publicly about data engineering topics, including a presentation titled "Charting the Lakehouse Trail: A Data Migration Adventure" at a Data Council conference. He has also written about data infrastructure topics, including work with Apache Iceberg table formats, on the InQuery engineering blog hosted on Medium.
