OccupationRadiation oncologist, academic

Eric Donnelly is a radiation oncologist affiliated with the University of New Hampshire in Durham. His research addresses the treatment of endometrial cancer and breast cancer, including risk classification approaches and comparisons of radiotherapy strategies.[1]

Research

According to Semantic Scholar, Donnelly has authored or co-authored 114 papers that have collectively been cited 1,702 times, yielding an h-index of 21.[2] His work has examined the prevalence of POLE and POLD1 mutations and their relationship to race and survival among patients with endometrial cancer, published in JAMA Network Open.[3] He has also contributed to the development of a machine learning-based risk classification score for endometrial cancer patients, published in both the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics and Gynecologic Oncology.[4][5]

In breast cancer research, Donnelly has studied treatment strategies for oligometastatic disease and compared outcomes among patients receiving external beam radiotherapy, intraoperative radiotherapy, or observation.[6][7] He has additionally presented findings on the avoidance of radiotherapy for low-risk early breast cancer using LUMINA trial criteria and on comparisons between radiotherapy and endocrine therapy for hormone receptor positive early stage breast cancer.[8][9]
