David Pumberger is a business executive who is a co-founder and the Chief Strategy Officer of ZAGENO, a life-sciences e-commerce marketplace for laboratory and research supplies.[1] He holds a doctorate (Ph.D.).[2] In some listings his title also appears as Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer.[1]
Career
Before founding ZAGENO, Pumberger worked in management consulting at PwC.[3] According to the venture firm General Catalyst, he met his future co-founder Florian Wegener at PwC, where Wegener engaged him to advise on an e-commerce initiative; the two went on to found ZAGENO in 2015.[3][1]
At ZAGENO, Pumberger leads corporate strategy for the company's marketplace, which aggregates laboratory and life-science products from thousands of suppliers to simplify scientific procurement for biotechnology and pharmaceutical organizations.[1] He also contributes writing to the company's publications on laboratory procurement and operations.[2]
