Daniel Todd is an American entrepreneur and technology executive who serves as chief executive officer and founder of Influence Mobile, a rewarded-gaming platform he founded in 2012.[1] The company's consumer product, Rewarded Play, has been installed more than 30 million times and has paid out over $40 million to players since 2019.[2] Influence Mobile appeared on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in the United States for four consecutive years from 2021 through 2024, reaching as high as number 534 in 2022.[3]

Early life and education

Todd attended Oral Roberts University from 1988 to 1990 before transferring to Northwest University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology, completing the degree around 1995.[4] He played on the university soccer team during his time at Northwest.[4]

Early career

Insurance and financial technology

Todd began his professional career at SAFECO Insurance, where he worked in senior system support from 1994 to 1998.[4] He then joined LoanWorks, a financial technology company, as assistant vice president of technology from 1998 to 1999.[4]

Zango

In June 1999, Todd became president of Zango, an online advertising company based in the Seattle area, a position he held until September 2007.[4] At Zango he oversaw sales, marketing, distribution, product development, and corporate strategy, and served on the company's board of directors.[4]

GlobalMojo

After leaving Zango, Todd founded GlobalMojo in March 2010 and served as its chief executive officer until March 2012.[4]

Founding Influence Mobile

Todd founded Influence Mobile in May 2012.[4] The company's consumer product, Rewarded Play, allows players to earn rewards by playing mobile games. Influence Mobile distinguished itself by focusing on player quality and long-term engagement rather than volume-based install metrics.[1]

Growth and industry recognition

Influence Mobile's annual revenue grew rapidly in the years following its founding, reaching a peak of $62 million in 2023 according to the company's Wefunder regulatory filing.[5] The company appeared on the Inc. 5000 list at number 804 in 2021, number 534 in 2022, and number 832 in 2023.[3][4] Influence Mobile also ranked on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 at number 260 in 2021, number 121 in 2022, and number 197 in 2023.[4]

Influence Mobile has been ranked among the top four media sources globally for player quality across both the AppsFlyer Performance Index and the Singular Performance Index in multiple years between 2022 and 2025.[1] The company's rankings placed it in the same categories as Google and Facebook in the casual gaming segment.[1]

The Puget Sound Business Journal recognized Influence Mobile as the third-best workplace in Washington state in 2021, sixth in 2022, and eighth in 2023, reflecting the company's Seattle-area roots before its later relocation to Arizona.[4]

Revenue decline

Annual revenue declined from a peak of $62 million in 2023 to $42 million in 2024 and $28.7 million in 2025, according to the company's Wefunder regulatory filing.[5] The company reported a net loss of approximately $6 million in 2025 and carried $3.1 million in debt.[5]

Business and advisory roles

Todd has served as a startup mentor and advisor since 2007, working with entrepreneurs on business planning, revenue strategy, product development, and fundraising.[4] He was a mentor at TechStars Seattle from 2010 to 2015, working with companies including Bizible, Leanplum, GoChime, LiveStories, and others.[4] He served as a mentor at the Disney Accelerator, powered by Techstars, from July 2014 to August 2018, based in Glendale, California.[4]

Influence Mobile's Wefunder filing reported that the company's spender rate, the percentage of players who make in-app purchases, stands at 35 percent, compared to an industry average of approximately 5 percent.[5] The company has stated that the largest game developers spend tens of millions of dollars annually on the platform.[1]

As of August 2025, Influence Mobile was conducting a Regulation CF offering on Wefunder, seeking up to $5 million at a $50 million valuation cap.[5]
