Daniel Jones is an American entrepreneur and software engineer known as the co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) of Zaymo, an interactive email builder for e-commerce brands. Zaymo was part of the Y Combinator Winter 2024 batch.[1]

Career

Prior to founding Zaymo, Jones gained experience in artificial intelligence and biotechnology research at Harvard Medical School. He also worked in enterprise software sales at an early-stage startup and started a coaching program. During his undergraduate studies, Jones won over $900,000 in pitch competitions. He has published several research papers and was a competitive pianist.[2]

Jones has lived in Germany, New Zealand, and Russia.

Jones co-founded Zaymo alongside Brice Douglas. The company develops a no-code email builder that enables Shopify merchants to create fully interactive emails. Leveraging recent changes in email client technology that allow more complex content to be rendered within email messages, Zaymo enables brands to embed website-like functionality — such as product upsells, reviews, SMS collection, surveys, quizzes, and shopping — directly inside emails. The company's stated goal is to decrease friction and increase conversion rates for product marketing and data collection.[3]

Zaymo operates in the e-commerce, marketing, and email industries. The platform is used by direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands and integrates with Shopify storefronts. The company raised a seed round, which was reported in April 2024.

In addition to Zaymo, Jones has been involved with Blockstamp, another venture where he served as a founder.
