Corbin Klett is an American entrepreneur and engineer who is the co-founder and chief technology officer (CTO) of Artifact, a collaborative, AI-native integrated development environment (IDE) designed for hardware engineers. The company participated in Y Combinator's Winter 2025 batch.[1]

Career

Klett holds a PhD in aerospace engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where his research focused on applying control theory to robotic systems. After completing his doctorate, he spent several years in industry working on design and embedded software for a high-speed aircraft prototype. During this period, he worked alongside his future co-founder Antony Samuel on Mach 5 jet engine projects.[1]

Klett co-founded Artifact with Antony Samuel. The company develops a collaborative, version-controlled, multi-layered electrical computer-aided design (ECAD) tool aimed at modernizing how complex hardware — including aircraft, boats, satellites, and robotic systems — is engineered. The platform serves as a single source of truth across the hardware engineering lifecycle, spanning design, procurement, and manufacturing. It organizes interdependencies between sub-systems and auto-generates harness drawings, pin-tables, and bills of materials (BOMs) in real time.[2]

Artifact integrates AI capabilities into its tooling, functioning as what the company describes as a verifiable AI copilot with an intuitive interface that reflects how hardware is actually built. The platform supports traceability, ensuring that every engineering artifact is linked to a single source of truth. As of 2025, the company reported working with more than 16 customer organizations and tracking over 116,000 wires on its platform.[2]

In 2025, Artifact raised $3.5 million in funding to support the development of its platform.[1] The company is based in New York City and is a member of South Park Commons, a community for founders and engineers.

Klett serves as CTO, overseeing the technical development of the platform, while Samuel serves as co-founder with a focus on the company's electrical engineering and avionics domain expertise.
