Charlie Maki is an American entrepreneur and software engineer who is the co-founder and CEO of Bystreet, an AI-powered deal sourcing platform for the hotel industry. Bystreet is a member of the Y Combinator Winter 2025 batch and is based in San Francisco.[1]
Career
Maki graduated from Harvard University with a degree in computer science in 2023.[1] Following graduation, he served as a founding engineer at a startup, where he helped grow the company from zero revenue to $1 million in annual recurring revenue and 10,000 paying users.
In 2024, Maki co-founded Bystreet. The company operates as a software as a service (SaaS) platform that provides AI-driven deal sourcing tools for development teams at hotel brands, operators, and vendors targeting the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) market. The platform offers a comprehensive database containing data on over 17,000 hotels in the region, including ownership details, contact information, and market visibility. Users can apply advanced filtering to identify target properties, access contact details for key decision-makers, and gain insights into competitor activity and market development trends.[2]
Bystreet is backed by Y Combinator and Script Capital. The company operates in the proptech and B2B sectors, with its platform designed to reduce the manual prospecting work traditionally associated with hotel market deal sourcing. Maki leads a small team based in San Francisco.[1]
