The Bachelor of Science is the standard undergraduate degree for the quantitative and applied disciplines in the United States and much of the Commonwealth, distinguished from the Bachelor of Arts by a heavier requirement in mathematics, laboratory work and the major subject itself. This category exists as an internal-linking and navigation layer for the credential, not as a reading list. It carries no editorial judgment about the people in it, and no search demand supports treating it as a destination.
What the membership actually holds
The composition is worth stating plainly, because it is not what the name suggests. The largest share of the roster is elected officials rather than scientists: members of Congress, governors, state attorneys general and mayors whose undergraduate degree happened to be a BS, frequently in engineering, agriculture, nursing, pharmacy or business rather than in a laboratory science. Alex Padilla and Aruna Miller both took engineering degrees before elected office; Bruce Westerman came through forestry; Shelley Moore Capito took a Bachelor of Science in zoology; Colin Powell took his through the City College of New York.
The second block is the one the credential implies, and it is smaller: research scientists, physicians and engineers including William Kaelin Jr., David Gross, Ardem Patapoutian and Andrej Karpathy. The third is corporate, and includes Tim Cook, who took a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Auburn before an MBA and Apple, along with Darren Woods and Cathie Wood.
Because membership here derives from a line in an education section rather than from a shared institution, cohort or field, the grouping should be treated as a finding aid. The subject-matter hubs and the university hubs carry the editorial weight.
