Carlton Gebbia (born 17 October 1973), also known by her birth name Carlton Lynx, is a British interior designer, former actress, and television personality. Born on the island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands, Gebbia built a career that spanned acting, design, and reality television before largely retreating from the public spotlight. She is best known for her appearance as a cast member on the fourth season of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which aired during the 2013–2014 television season. Her time on the show drew significant attention for her open practice of Wicca, her distinctive Gothic-inspired personal aesthetic, and a sustained on-screen feud with longtime cast member Kyle Richards. Prior to her reality television career, Gebbia's most notable acting credit was a starring role in the 2001 erotic thriller Pretty When You Cry. As an interior designer, she became known for her elaborate, Gothic-influenced residential projects, most prominently the large custom home she shared with her then-husband David Gebbia in Beverly Hills, which attracted media coverage for its dramatic architectural features. Following her single season on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Gebbia maintained a relatively low public profile, focusing on her family and design work.[1]
Early Life
Carlton Gebbia was born Carlton Lynx on 17 October 1973 in Guernsey, one of the Channel Islands located in the English Channel near the coast of Normandy, France. Guernsey is a Crown Dependency of the British Crown but is not part of the United Kingdom. Details about Gebbia's childhood, parents, and upbringing on the island remain limited in publicly available sources. She later relocated from the Channel Islands, eventually settling in the United States, where she would pursue careers in acting and interior design.[2]
Gebbia has spoken publicly about her spiritual practices, identifying as a practitioner of Wicca, a modern pagan religion. In interviews and during her time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she described her connection to Wiccan beliefs as a longstanding aspect of her identity rather than something she adopted later in life. She discussed her practice openly during a 2013 interview with Bravo, in which she described elements of her spiritual life and how they influenced her daily routines and worldview.[3] Her openness about Wicca became one of the defining aspects of her public persona and a recurring topic of discussion during her television appearances. In a 2013 interview with The Daily Beast, Gebbia confirmed that she genuinely practices witchcraft and that her spiritual beliefs were not merely a persona adopted for television.[4]
Career
Acting
Gebbia pursued an acting career beginning in the mid-1990s, working under her birth name Carlton Lynx as well as her married name. Her filmography, as documented on IMDb, spans from 1994 to the early 2000s.[5] Her most prominent acting role was as the lead in the 2001 erotic thriller Pretty When You Cry, a film that provided her with the most significant screen credit of her acting career. The film featured Gebbia in a central dramatic role and represented the peak of her work in the entertainment industry as an actress. Beyond Pretty When You Cry, Gebbia appeared in a number of smaller productions, though none achieved comparable visibility. By the mid-2000s, Gebbia had largely moved away from acting and toward other professional endeavors, particularly interior design.
Interior Design
Gebbia established herself as an interior designer with a distinctive aesthetic rooted in Gothic and dramatic architectural influences. Her design work gained significant public attention through the custom home she and her then-husband David Gebbia built in Beverly Hills. The property, which was featured during her time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, became notable for its Gothic architectural elements, including ornate woodwork, elaborate ironwork, and dramatic design choices that reflected Gebbia's personal style and spiritual interests.[6]
The home drew particular media attention for its unconventional features. People magazine reported on one room in the house described as reminiscent of a Fifty Shades of Grey playroom, which became a topic of discussion during the fourth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and contributed to Gebbia's image as an unconventional and provocative cast member.[7]
The Beverly Hills property was later listed for sale and was featured on Bravo's Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, further highlighting the property's distinctive design and Gebbia's work as a designer.[8] The home was also covered by Realtor.com, which described it as a "Gothic mansion" when reporting on the property listing.[9]
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
In 2013, Gebbia was announced as one of two new cast members joining the fourth season of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, alongside Joyce Giraud. The casting was reported by E! News, which confirmed that Gebbia and Giraud would be joining the existing cast while Taylor Armstrong would be departing the series.[10] E! News also published coverage of the season 4 trailer, introducing viewers to the new cast members and previewing the storylines for the upcoming season.[11]
Entertainment Weekly profiled both new cast members ahead of the season premiere, discussing their backgrounds and what they would bring to the show.[12]
Gebbia's tenure on the show was defined by several recurring elements. Her open practice of Wicca became a central topic of discussion among the cast and in media coverage. She spoke candidly about her beliefs on the show and in accompanying blog posts on BravoTV.com, describing how her spiritual practices shaped her life and worldview.[13]
The most prominent storyline of Gebbia's season was her escalating conflict with Kyle Richards, one of the show's original cast members. The feud between the two women became a major narrative thread throughout the fourth season. Tensions between Gebbia and Richards were fueled by disagreements about Gebbia's Wiccan practices, with Gebbia feeling that Richards was dismissive or disrespectful of her beliefs, and Richards expressing discomfort with what she perceived as Gebbia's hostility.[14][15]
The conflict included an episode in which the question of whether Gebbia had put a "spell" on Richards's computer was discussed, a storyline that received coverage from People magazine.[16] In a 2013 interview with Parade, Gebbia reflected on the drama of her season, stating, "I've made mistakes but I have no regrets," and discussing her approach to the conflicts that arose during filming.[17]
Gebbia also wrote blog posts on the Bravo website during the season's airing, in which she elaborated on events depicted in episodes and offered her perspective on interactions with other cast members. In one post, she described finding "a new kind of" connection through her experiences on the show.[18]
Following the conclusion of the fourth season, both Gebbia and Giraud were not asked to return for the fifth season. Time magazine covered the departures, reporting on the cast changes heading into the next season of the series.[19] Gebbia's departure marked the end of her active career in television, and she did not subsequently appear as a regular cast member on any other television series.
In October 2025, Kyle Richards provided an update on her relationship with Gebbia during interviews, describing the drama between them as "horrible" and providing new details about their on-screen conflict. Richards shared where they stood more than a decade after their televised feud.[20][21]
In December 2023, Andy Cohen mentioned Gebbia during an episode of Watch What Happens Live, sharing what he described as "something interesting" about the former cast member, described as "something in the ether" regarding a potential update on Gebbia's connection to the franchise.[22]
Post-Television Career
Following her departure from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Gebbia maintained a relatively low public profile. She continued her work in interior design and focused on raising her three children. In October 2024, Bravo published an update on Gebbia's life, reporting that she was "still embracing the magic and mystery of life" since her appearance on the show.[23]
Personal Life
Gebbia was married to David Gebbia, a businessman. The couple had three children together, including daughters named Destiny and Mysteri. Their family life and the distinctive home they built together in Beverly Hills were featured prominently during Gebbia's season on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
In 2017, People magazine reported that Gebbia had separated from her husband David. The couple's separation was publicly confirmed through the report, in which Gebbia discussed the end of their marriage.[24] The divorce was subsequently finalized, as reported by Bravo.[25]
Following the divorce, Gebbia also faced legal issues. Bravo reported that Gebbia was sued by her former housekeeper, though the details and outcome of the lawsuit were not extensively documented in public sources.[26]
Gebbia continues to identify as a practitioner of Wicca and has referred to her daughters as part of her "coven." In October 2025, Bravo published an update featuring Gebbia and her daughters Destiny and Mysteri, with Gebbia sharing photos and updates about their lives as she prepared for what she described as her favorite time of the year — the Halloween season.[27]
Recognition
Gebbia's primary claim to public recognition stems from her appearance on the fourth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. While she appeared for only a single season, her stint on the show generated sustained media interest due to her distinctive personality, her open practice of Wicca on a mainstream reality television platform, and her televised conflict with Kyle Richards.
Her Gothic-inspired Beverly Hills home attracted attention from real estate and design media. The property was featured on Bravo's Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles and was covered by Realtor.com and other outlets when it was listed for sale.[28][29]
Despite being a one-season cast member, Gebbia has remained a subject of periodic media coverage and fan interest more than a decade after her appearance on the show. Publications including People, Yahoo Entertainment, Just Jared, and Bravo's own digital platforms have continued to publish updates about her life and reflect on her season.[30][31] Her openness about practicing Wicca on national television has been noted as a distinctive element of the Real Housewives franchise, which has featured cast members from a wide range of backgrounds and belief systems across its various installments.[13]
