Cameran Wimberly (née Eubanks) is an American television personality and real estate agent who first gained public attention as a cast member on The Real World: San Diego, the fourteenth season of MTV's long-running reality series, which aired in 2004. She later became one of the original and most recognizable cast members of the Bravo reality television series Southern Charm, which premiered on March 3, 2014, and chronicles the personal and professional lives of socialites residing in Charleston, South Carolina.[1] Known for her candid humor and pragmatic perspective, Wimberly appeared on Southern Charm for its first six seasons before departing the series in 2020. Outside of television, she has built a career in residential real estate in the Charleston area. She is married to anesthesiologist Jason Wimberly, with whom she has one daughter.
Early Life
Cameran Eubanks was born and raised in Anderson, South Carolina, a small city in the upstate region of the state. Details regarding her parents and early family life have remained largely private, though she has spoken publicly about her Southern upbringing and its influence on her personality and values. She grew up in South Carolina and later relocated to Charleston, where she would establish both her personal and professional life.
Wimberly's early exposure to television came at a young age when she was cast on MTV's The Real World: San Diego in 2004, making her one of the younger cast members on the series at the time. Her appearance on the show introduced her to a national audience and marked the beginning of her career in reality television, though she would not return to the genre for nearly a decade.
Career
The Real World: San Diego
Wimberly's television career began with her appearance on The Real World: San Diego, the fourteenth season of MTV's pioneering reality series. The show, which followed a group of young strangers selected to live together in a house, aired in 2004. Her time on the series provided her with early experience in reality television and established her as a recognizable personality among fans of the genre.
Southern Charm
In 2014, Wimberly joined the cast of the newly created Bravo reality television series Southern Charm. The series was developed to chronicle the personal and professional lives of several socialites residing in Charleston, South Carolina, with a focus on Southern culture and the political history of the area.[2] The show premiered on March 3, 2014, and featured local historical places including Lewisfield Plantation and Mikell House.[3]
Wimberly was one of the original cast members and quickly became a fan favorite for her straightforward commentary and humorous observations about her fellow castmates. Unlike several of her co-stars, she was often positioned as a voice of reason within the group, offering candid assessments of the interpersonal dramas that unfolded on the series. The show proved to be a commercial success for Bravo, leading to multiple season renewals.[4]
The series was renewed repeatedly throughout the mid-2010s, with Bravo also commissioning several spinoff series, including Southern Charm Savannah and Southern Charm New Orleans.[5][6] Cast member Shep Rose also received his own spinoff series, RelationShep.[7]
During her time on the series, Wimberly's storylines frequently centered on her personal life, including her marriage, her journey into motherhood, and her career in real estate. She also navigated on-screen friendships with fellow cast members including Chelsea Meissner and Naomie Olindo, both of whom would also eventually depart the show.
Shep Rose, who remained on the series for many additional seasons, later spoke in a December 2024 interview about the behind-the-scenes dynamics during what he described as the "dark years" of the show, a period that overlapped with significant cast changes and departures.[8]
Departure from Southern Charm
In May 2020, Wimberly announced her departure from Southern Charm after six seasons. Her exit coincided with that of fellow cast members Naomie Olindo and Chelsea Meissner, representing a significant shift in the show's lineup.[9]
The departures came amid a period of controversy surrounding the series. In May 2020, Naomie Olindo publicly defended Wimberly against cheating rumors that had surfaced regarding Wimberly's husband, Jason Wimberly. Olindo took to social media to defend her friend and to call out fellow cast member Kathryn Dennis in connection with the rumors.[10] Wimberly herself did not publicly engage with the rumors in significant detail but made clear that her departure from the show was a personal decision.
In a March 2025 interview, Chelsea Meissner discussed her own reasons for leaving Southern Charm and spoke about her continued friendships with Wimberly and Olindo, suggesting that the bonds formed during their time on the series had endured well beyond their television careers.[11]
Real Estate Career
In addition to her television work, Wimberly has pursued a career in residential real estate in the Charleston, South Carolina area. She obtained her real estate license and has been active in the local property market. In April 2025, it was reported that she was selling a property she owned in South Carolina, described as a lot located in a "small gated community" that she referred to as "magical."[12]
Her real estate career was a recurring topic during her time on Southern Charm, where viewers watched her navigate the challenges of building a professional career while also managing her personal life and television commitments.
Personal Life
Cameran Eubanks married Jason Wimberly, an anesthesiologist, in 2014.[13] The couple celebrated their eleventh wedding anniversary in April 2025, with Wimberly sharing a photograph of the couple to mark the occasion.[13]
The couple have one daughter together. Wimberly's experiences with pregnancy and motherhood were prominently featured on Southern Charm during her later seasons on the show. She has been publicly candid about her ambivalence toward expanding her family. In July 2025, she addressed questions about whether she was planning a second child, sharing what was described as an "honest response" about her feelings on the matter.[14]
Wimberly has been noted for her down-to-earth approach to domesticity and family life. In September 2020, she shared a candid look at her home life, including images of her "messy home," which resonated with fans who appreciated her authenticity and willingness to reject the polished image often associated with reality television personalities.[15]
She resides in the Charleston, South Carolina area with her family, though as of 2025 she was in the process of selling one of her South Carolina properties.
Recognition
Wimberly's profile on Rotten Tomatoes, the review aggregation website, includes a gallery of production photos from her television career, reflecting her sustained visibility in entertainment media.[16]
As one of the original cast members of Southern Charm, Wimberly was central to the show's initial success and its establishment as a long-running franchise for Bravo. The series spawned multiple spinoffs and became one of the network's recognizable properties. Wimberly's role in the ensemble was frequently cited by viewers and media commentators as an anchor of the show, particularly during its first six seasons.
Her departure from the series in 2020, along with those of Chelsea Meissner and Naomie Olindo, marked a turning point for Southern Charm. The show continued production after their exits, but the loss of three established cast members in a single offseason represented one of the most significant roster changes in the series' history.
Despite stepping away from reality television, Wimberly has maintained a public presence through social media and occasional media appearances. She continues to be referenced in coverage of Southern Charm and is frequently sought out for comment on developments related to the series and its current and former cast members. Her enduring friendships with fellow former cast members, including Meissner and Olindo, have continued to be a subject of media interest years after their collective departure from the show.
