Brogan McPartland is an American entrepreneur and the co-founder and CEO of Vocality Health, a startup developing voice artificial intelligence technology for medical language translation. The company participated in Y Combinator's Winter 2025 batch.[1]

Early life and education

McPartland is from Stephens City, Virginia, where he attended Sherando High School.[2] He attended Harvard University, where he played college football as a defensive lineman for the Harvard Crimson. During his senior season in 2018, he led the team with four sacks.[3] In January 2020, he was named to the 2019 FCS Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team, recognizing both his athletic and academic achievements.[4]

Career

McPartland co-founded Vocality Health alongside Vivek Jayaram, who serves as the company's chief technology officer. The company, which was previously known as Celebi AI and Scyther, develops AI-powered voice technology designed to eliminate language barriers in clinical settings. Its primary product is an application that enables physicians to communicate with patients in any language, replacing the need for human medical interpreters in hospitals and clinics.[5]

According to the company, hospitals in the United States spend billions of dollars annually on in-person and remote translation services, often relying on call-center-based systems that the company characterizes as outdated and insufficient for providing adequate care to non-English-speaking patients. Vocality Health aims to build what it describes as the most accurate and compliant medical language translation system, operating across both voice and video modalities.[1]

In addition to its clinical interpretation product, Vocality Health offers AI-powered voice agents designed to handle patient phone calls on behalf of healthcare providers. The company was founded in 2025 and has raised $500,000 in pre-seed funding, with Y Combinator and Pioneer Fund among its investors. As of early 2026, the company had two employees.

As CEO, McPartland is responsible for product and business development at Vocality Health.
