Berni Hausleitner (also known as Bernhard Hausleitner) is an entrepreneur and software engineer who is the co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Soff, a San Francisco-based technology company that builds artificial intelligence agents for distributors and manufacturers. Soff was part of the Y Combinator Summer 2024 batch.[1]

Career

Prior to founding Soff, Hausleitner worked at Tesla as a full-stack engineer on the Autopilot team, where he developed internal tooling. His experience at Tesla exposed him to inefficiencies in large-scale supply chain operations, which informed the direction of his subsequent startup work.

Hausleitner met his co-founder, Raban von Spiegel, at the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM) in Munich, a joint institution of the Technical University of Munich and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich focused on technology and entrepreneurship. The two shared an interest in addressing supply chain challenges and went on to co-found Soff.

Soff

Soff develops AI-powered sales agents designed for distributors and manufacturers. The company's platform processes quotes, orders, and communications with customers, co-workers, and suppliers on behalf of its clients. The company describes itself as building "the AI agent workforce for the physical world," aiming to bridge the gap between data intelligence and industrial execution.[2]

The product initially focused on functioning as a supply chain operating system that unified data and automated core workflows for manufacturing companies. Over time, the company's positioning evolved toward AI agents specifically tailored for sales operations within distribution and manufacturing businesses.

Soff is based in San Francisco and operates in the artificial intelligence, B2B, sales, manufacturing, and supply chain sectors. The company's team includes members with backgrounds at Tesla, Stanford University, and Duke University.

As of early 2025, Soff was actively hiring for positions including AI-native software engineers, sales development representatives, and customer success managers, indicating continued growth of the company's operations.
