Alexis Bellino (née Dietrich; born January 19, 1977) is an American television personality known for appearing on the Bravo reality series The Real Housewives of Orange County. She was a full-time cast member during seasons 5 through 8 and came back as a "friend of the housewives" in season 18. Born and raised in Hannibal, Missouri, she moved to Southern California and became well-known in Orange County social circles. Her time on The Real Housewives of Orange County brought attention to her marriage with Jim Bellino, her Christian faith, and her career goals. After leaving in 2013, she stayed visible through media appearances and social media. When she returned to the franchise in 2024, there was renewed interest in her life, especially her relationship with John Janssen, a man previously linked to cast member Shannon Beador. She married Janssen in October 2025 in a ceremony in Laguna Beach, California.[1]

Early Life

Alexis Dietrich was born January 19, 1977, in Hannibal, Missouri. The city sits on the Mississippi River and is famous as Mark Twain's hometown.[2] She grew up there and kept ties to Missouri throughout her life.

She's talked openly about how close she was to her mother. Her mother passed away in 2023, and Bellino got a tattoo in her memory as a tribute.[3] That gesture reflected how important family was to her personal identity, something that would come up again and again in her public life and TV career.

Growing up in small-town Missouri contrasted sharply with the wealthy Orange County lifestyle that later defined her on television. On The Real Housewives of Orange County, she was sometimes shown as an outsider navigating wealthy Southern California from someone who hadn't grown up in that world.[2]

Education

She attended the University of Missouri and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.[4] That business degree gave her a foundation for entrepreneurial work and various careers after she became famous on reality television.

Career

The Real Housewives of Orange County (Seasons 5–8)

She joined The Real Housewives of Orange County as a full-time housewife starting with season 5. The show introduced viewers to her life as a wife and mother in Orange County. Bellino became known for her outspoken Christian faith, her relationship with then-husband Jim Bellino, and her lifestyle in affluent Orange County communities.

Throughout her four seasons as a full-time cast member, she was involved in various conflicts with other housewives. Her interactions generated significant viewer discussion and media coverage. In a later interview with Us Magazine, she reflected on her time on the series and mentioned specific moments she wished hadn't been broadcast, noting how hard it was to have your personal life on camera.[5]

Career ambitions were a recurring element of her storyline. A 2012 Chicago Tribune profile discussed her efforts to expand her professional identity beyond being a housewife, describing her as undergoing a "career makeover" during the show's run.[4] This reflected a broader trend among reality TV personalities trying to turn their on-screen fame into business ventures and media careers.

She left after season 8 in 2013. Like many reality shows, the franchise rotated its cast regularly to keep things fresh.

Return to RHOC (Season 18)

After more than a decade away, she returned to The Real Housewives of Orange County for season 18 in 2024. This time she was a "friend of the housewives" rather than a full-time cast member. Her return connected directly to her romantic relationship with John Janssen, who'd been in a long-term relationship with cast member Shannon Beador. This created natural dramatic tension in the season's storylines.

The situation surrounding her return got media attention and viewer interest because her relationship with Janssen intersected with existing cast relationships and conflicts. It was further complicated by past legal disputes involving her ex-husband Jim Bellino and Beador. Beador had won a defamation case that Jim Bellino brought against her.[6]

Her return also brought renewed coverage of her personal life, her engagement to Janssen, and their wedding. Her relationship with Heather Dubrow became a topic of public discussion, especially after Dubrow didn't show up to Bellino's October 2025 wedding. Bellino said publicly she was "perplexed" by Dubrow's reasons.[7]

Other Media Appearances

Outside of The Real Housewives of Orange County, she's stayed visible through interviews and social media. Publications like People, Us Magazine, and entertainment outlets have featured her. During the years between her two appearances on the show, she kept in touch with the Real Housewives fan community through social media and shared updates about her personal life and various projects.

Personal Life

Marriage to Jim Bellino

She married Jim Bellino in 2005. They appeared together on The Real Housewives of Orange County during seasons 5 through 8. They had three children together.[8] Their marriage and family were central to her storyline during her original run on the show.

Their marriage ended in divorce in 2018. After that, they've co-parented their children. In later interviews, she discussed reuniting with her ex-husband for family events and co-parenting.[9]

Children

She's the mother of three from her marriage to Jim Bellino. In a statement to People magazine, she introduced her transgender son Miles and thanked fans for their "love and support".[8] The announcement received public attention, and she expressed gratitude for the supportive responses.

Her oldest son, James Bellino, got engaged to his high school sweetheart, Bella Luzi, in December 2025. She publicly celebrated the engagement.[10]

Engagement to Andy Bohn

After her divorce from Jim Bellino, she became engaged to Andy Bohn. She later ended the engagement, explaining her reasons in interviews with People and Us Magazine.[11][12]

Marriage to John Janssen

She began a relationship with John Janssen, a businessman who'd previously been with Real Housewives of Orange County cast member Shannon Beador. When she returned to the show for season 18 in 2024, their relationship became a major storyline.

They got engaged. She celebrated a pre-wedding event called a "Wow Before the Vow" party in August 2025.[13]

On October 3, 2025, she and Janssen married in a "rustic chic" ceremony in Laguna Beach, California.[1] Multiple outlets covered it, including People and E! News.[14] They'd been dating for nearly two years before the wedding.[14]

After the wedding, they shared updates about married life. In October 2025, she and Janssen experienced what was described as a notable "first" as husband and wife, which they documented and shared publicly.[15]

Blended Family

Through her marriage to Janssen, she became part of a blended family. Between them, they have six children. In August 2025, she shared photos of what she called a "family funday" with all six kids, giving fans a look at how the blended family was working.[16] The blended family aspect has been a theme in her public statements, with her sharing messages about how the two families were integrating.[17]

Family and Faith

She's been open about her Christian faith throughout her public life. It was a prominent part of her persona during her original time on The Real Housewives of Orange County. Her faith and family values came up frequently on the show and in media interviews. Through social media she's shared messages of gratitude and family-centered sentiments.[18]

Losing her mother was significant, and she memorialized her with a tattoo, which she shared publicly in 2023.[3]

Recognition

Her recognition in popular culture comes mainly from The Real Housewives of Orange County, one of the longest-running series in the franchise. Her four-season tenure as a full-time cast member from seasons 5 through 8 made her recognizable to the franchise's fanbase.

Her return during season 18 in 2024 brought a new wave of media attention. The dramatic circumstances of her relationship with John Janssen and how it connected to the show's existing cast dynamics drove much of this. Her return showed the enduring interest in Real Housewives alumni among the franchise's audience and broader entertainment media.

Major outlets like People, Us Magazine, E! News, the Chicago Tribune, and the Columbia Tribune have covered her. Her October 2025 wedding to Janssen received extensive coverage, with People getting exclusive access to details and photos.[1][14]

When she publicly introduced her transgender son Miles, it also received significant media attention and was covered by People, earning recognition for her statement of support for her child.[8]
