Adolfo Roquero Gimenez is a Spanish software engineer and entrepreneur. He is a co-founder of YouShift, a health technology company that develops an artificial intelligence-powered operating system for hospital workforce management. YouShift was part of the Y Combinator Winter 2025 batch.[1]
Career
Early in his career, Roquero Gimenez held roles at Grafton Studio, first as a software engineering intern in 2020 and subsequently as a data consultant through 2021. He then worked as a software developer at Playbook from 2021 to 2022. He joined Google as a software engineering intern in 2022 and returned to the company in a full-time capacity from 2023 to 2024.
In 2024, Roquero Gimenez co-founded YouShift alongside Lucía Vives Martorell, a medical professional who had studied medical science at University College London and spent time as a visiting student at Harvard University, and a third co-founder identified in company materials by the name Jota C., whose full name has not been independently confirmed in public sources.
YouShift develops AI-driven software designed to automate hospital shift scheduling. The platform is intended to replace legacy scheduling software and to reduce the need for dedicated full-time scheduling staff within healthcare organisations. It is built around a system that generates optimised schedules by balancing institutional rules, coverage requirements, and clinician preferences. Additional features include AI scheduling agents that configure rules and collect clinician availability, as well as operations intelligence tools providing real-time visibility into coverage gaps, workload distribution, and staffing costs.[2] The company is headquartered in New York City and operates across the health technology, HR technology, and artificial intelligence sectors. Scheduling constitutes YouShift's initial product focus, with broader healthcare workforce management capabilities planned for subsequent development, including capacity management features designed to align staffing levels with projected patient demand and associated costs.
YouShift participated in Y Combinator's Winter 2025 batch, which represents the primary verifiable public record of the company's activity as of early 2025. No independent press coverage detailing the company's client base, funding rounds, or growth metrics had been identified at the time of writing.[3]
