YouShift develops AI-driven software designed to automate hospital shift scheduling. The platform replaces legacy scheduling software and aims to eliminate the need for dedicated full-time scheduling staff within healthcare organizations. The system generates optimized schedules that balance institutional rules, coverage requirements, and clinician preferences. Additional features include AI scheduling agents that configure rules and collect clinician availability, as well as operations intelligence tools providing real-time visibility into coverage gaps, workload distribution, and staffing costs.[2]

The company is based in New York City and operates in the health tech, HR tech, and AI sectors. YouShift participated in Y Combinator's Winter 2025 batch and, as of 2025, was actively recruiting for founding engineering positions to expand its product team. The company has stated that scheduling is its initial product focus, with broader healthcare workforce management capabilities planned for the future, including capacity management features to align staffing with projected demand and costs.
