Tom Invernizzi is a French entrepreneur and the co-founder and CEO of Combinely, an artificial intelligence company that builds AI-powered tools for accounting and tax teams. The company was part of Y Combinator's Spring 2025 cohort.[1]

Early life and education

Invernizzi attended ESSEC Business School and later earned a Master of Finance (MFA) degree from London Business School in 2021.[2] He is multilingual, speaking French, English, and Spanish.

Career

Before founding Combinely, Invernizzi worked in auditing at Deloitte and in investment banking at Perella Weinberg Partners.[3] His experience with repetitive and error-prone tasks in the accounting industry motivated him to co-found Combinely.

Combinely describes itself as an "AI coworker" for tax and accounting teams. The platform uses AI agents to assist accounting firms with tasks including document collection, answering client queries, and producing and reviewing tax returns. According to the company, it was built by a team with backgrounds at Deloitte and Google.[4] The company's clients include accounting firms such as DFK International, Burgess Hodgson, Oury Clark, Whipplewood CPAs, and others.

Combinely participated in the London Business School incubator program, which has supported over 140 start-ups and helped raise more than £150 million in seed capital collectively.[5] The company was subsequently accepted into Y Combinator's Spring 2025 batch and raised seed funding from Y Combinator and other venture capital firms.[6]

Invernizzi is a member of the Forbes Technology Council and has published articles on the role of context-aware AI in the accounting profession.

Personal life

Invernizzi is based in San Francisco, California. He participates in Ironman competitions and climbing.[7]
