Lucas Silva is a technology entrepreneur and co-founder of Mesmer, a software as a service (SaaS) company that provides AI-powered engineering management tools for chief technology officers (CTOs) and startup founders. The company, described as "Cursor for CTOs," participated in Y Combinator's Spring 2025 batch and is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.[1]
Career
Prior to founding Mesmer, Silva was part of the leadership team at Origin Financial, a financial technology company that scaled to eight-figure annual recurring revenue (ARR), more than 100 employees, and a reported $400 million valuation. According to the company's Y Combinator profile, the Mesmer founding team comprises "repeat founders and CTOs with 15+ years of experience each," and the co-founders previously led product development together at Origin Financial.[2]
Silva co-founded Mesmer alongside João de Paula. The company's product is designed to give engineering leaders full visibility into their teams' work without requiring frequent meetings or manual status updates. Mesmer integrates with existing development tools and uses artificial intelligence to analyze code commits, identify risks such as stalled work or uneven contribution patterns, and track metrics including workload balance and shipping velocity. The company positions its product as an "AI Chief of Staff" for technical leaders.
According to its Y Combinator listing, Mesmer reached six-figure ARR within one week of launching and secured customers including Webflow and Origin Financial, with its client base representing companies valued at over $8 billion in aggregate. The company operates in the artificial intelligence, SaaS, productivity, and team collaboration sectors.
Mesmer was accepted into Y Combinator's Spring 2025 batch, where it was classified as an active company.
