Biography

Robert John Anderson Carnwath, Lord Carnwath of Notting Hill, CVO (given birth to 15 March 1945) is a Uk Supreme Courtroom judge. The son of Sir Andrew Carnwath KCVO, Robert Carnwath was educated at Eton College, where he won the Newcastle Scholarship or grant, and Trinity College, Cambridge. Carnwath was called towards the Club in Middle Temple in 1968. He practised in parliamentary laws, planning and municipality, revenue laws and administrative laws. He kept the session of Junior Counsel towards the Inland Income (Common Laws) from 1980 to 1985, been successful by Alan Moses, today Lord Justice Moses. He became a Queen’s Counsel in 1985, and was Lawyer General towards the Prince of Wales from 1988 to 1994. He was appointed while a High Courtroom judge on 3 Oct 1994, in the Chancery Department, and received the customary knighthood. He offered as Chairman of regulations Percentage from 1999 to July 2002. He was advertised to the Courtroom of Charm on 15 January 2002 and, as is definitely customary, joined up with the Privy Council. He was officially sworn in as the 1st Senior Chief executive of Tribunals on 12 November 2007. On 20 Dec 2011, Carnwath was announced as a fresh appointee towards the Supreme Courtroom of the uk. By Royal Warrant, all people from the Supreme Courtroom, even if indeed they do not keep a peerage, have entitlement to the judicial design and name “Lord” forever.. Carnworth was granted the courtesy design Lord Carnwath of Notting Hill. Carnwath also currently acts while the Chairman from the Advisory Council for the Institute of Advanced Legal Research. In his leisure time, he likes playing the piano and viola, aswell as performing in the Bach Choir.
