Swimming career

Buch participated in going swimming in the 1950 Maccabiah Games, where he distributed the Best Sportsman Award.Buch competed for Israel in the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki at age 19 in Swimming--Men's 100 metre Freestyle. He arrived in 7th in his warmth in the 1st round, with a period of just one 1:05.6. Buch was the 1st swimmer to represent Israel in the Olympics.Buch later on coached the Israeli nationwide swimming team for several years.
