Maurice Ahern

Biography

Maurice Ahern (given birth to 1938/39) is a past Irish Fianna Fáil politician. He was an associate of Dublin Town Council for the Cabra–Glasnevin regional electoral region from 1999 to 2009. He was initially elected in the 1999 regional elections, topping the poll. He was re-elected in the 2004 regional elections. He was god, the father Mayor of Dublin in 2000, and previously Leader from the Fianna Fáil group within the council. He’s a member from the Irish Sports activities Council and it is wedded to Moira Murray-Ahern with five sons and one child. His eldest child, Dylan Ahern, was discovered deceased in his house on 22 November 2009 . He’s the elder sibling of Bertie Ahern and Noel Ahern, both of whom served while Fianna Fáil TDs, Bertie Ahern having served while Taoiseach from 1997–2008. He was the Fianna Fáil applicant in the Dublin Central by-election that was held on 5 June 2009. He dropped that election becoming beaten into 5th place. On a single day time, he also dropped his council chair in this year’s 2009 regional elections.
